The fact is it would be pretty hard to get everyone that bought them legally but the problem lies with getting the millions of illegal gun from criminal not only that a lot of the 80 million legal gun owners would become criminals overnight due to vast amount of guns some people own.

@BlackRomero @TheGunney 40% will likely desert considering they follow the same line of thought. Ever think we won't use conventional warfare tactics? The U.S. Military has a hard time fighting against guerrilla warfare, we are currently running into problems the British ran into when they were fighting the well US, using a conventional force against a guerilla force.
@BlackRomero @junglist101 Try again 1997 North Hollywood Shootout happened during the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban not to mention numerous gang involved shootings against civilians. Chicago Ill has some of the Toughest gun laws yet has one of the highest homicide rates in the nation NYC and Wash. D.C. same story. Gang culture is very different here in the U.S. plus the police have way too much ground to cover and too little resources to be truly effective.
