I totally agree with what you are saying Danny...I am 40 and I have played pretty all the old 90's games you mentioned in this video. I myself am sick of all the bickering and hate that goes on in forums across the NET concerning video games. That is one of the reasons I am not a regular in forums on my favorite websites, e.g. GiantBomb and Gamespot...I just get annoyed when I see people arguing over what platform is the best for games and what games suck and which ones are the best. Like you stated, “let’s just love whatever games we want”. With “Destiny” some people are going to hate it and others are going to love it, so leave at that...there is no point in arguing over whether it sucks and why it sucks with someone that loves it. It is just a waste of your precious time and energy and you are going to lose. So, cheers to you Danny for being one of the most sincere and truthful game journalist out there….

@NaryuKick Hmm...I thought EB was bought out by Gamestop...sorry for my mistake...you learn something new every day. I guess what I was saying is that when I worked for EB back in '98 it was better than I remember it now.

Well, all I have to say is EB Games is completely dead now. Ever since Gamestop bought them out EB has been slowly dwindling away; the final nail has been slammed into the coffin with this action by Gamestop. Regarding the opening PC games; in this case with Gamestop opening customer's pre-order copies, I totally disagree with that...usually Gamestop opens the display copies and that is it...the overstock should never have to be opened...period, especially with the current copyright laws surrounding PC software. Gamestop’s decision to do this has totally destroyed their reputation and has effectively driven a lot of their PC customer out the door, probably for good. I think that after I get my copy or Rage and Skyrim I am done with this capitalist pig of a conglomerate. I would love to switch my pre-orders with the two above-mention games to other retailers but at this point I probably would not be able to secure CE copies of those games....

Is it not possible for paying members to download this guide? I know it is not complete yet, but it would be nice...it's not like paper would be wasted or anything...well, unless somebody printed it once they downloaded it 8-) Seriously, though...I am more interested in the Combat and Skill Tree tips than a walkthrough, so I will wait patiently. I am aching to play this, but I promised myself that I would finish the the Witcher Enhanced before I started TW2. I did start the TW2 though, well skipped through the intro; this was just to test the performance. I read that a lot of people are having performance issue, even with high end hardware; I have set everything to the highest setting that is possible for each one, and I am not seeing any slowdowns at all...I mean, I am not running at 60fps but I am definitely at no less than 25fps; hell I would even say I am consistently at 30fps. Mind you I have not left the tutorial. Are the performance issues outside of the tutorial or is it across the board?

Stop fighting over stupidity... both consoles have their pros and cons... there is no argument there. Everybody has their own preference, so this war is never going to be won by either side, ever. So save yourselves some stress and gray hair and go read this great article which cover the good and bad of both consoles in question here; http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/01/01/ps3-vs-360-in-2009/ Peace to everyone and have yourselves a very Merry X-MAS/Holiday and a very drunk, but safe, New Years!

OVERKILL and a bunch of hyped marketing and what you get is a waste of money... in 6 months after this hardware hits the market the price will be almost half of what it is today... Plus, no game is even using the full advantages of dual cores yet and we are well into the first quarter of '08.

Actually, these pictures do not do the 'Very High' detail settings justice. If all the details are set to 'very high' there is a big difference on some surfaces. For instance, the last picture above of the beach, if 'Shader Quality' is set to 'very high' the sand and the small rocks scattered all over the beach have a displacement mapping effect, real bump mapping. Whereas setting that detail to 'high' you lose the displacement mapping, rendering the surface flat. It's hard to explain, but one thing is for sure the person responsible for taking these screenshots didn't do a good job because the 'very high' and the 'high' looks exactly the same.

They look much better than halo 2. But i can't get the images of the tv commercial teaser out of my head. THAT is the art direction i though they might go in and unfortunately they chose not to. Just not sure why they would show a trailer with a completely different look not to mention one that closely resembled gears, which most of us love. Big mistake on bungie's part. No matter, i love halo gameplay and this will still look awesome on my plasma.
