Thankfully I have never had to use a gun for self defense, however there are countless that HAVE used guns for self defense so again, what the hell are you talking about?

3. Not at all, but I am reading between the lines. As I said the 2A will never be repealed. The next best thing Leftist/anit-gun activists can do is regulate guns to extinction, which will be the next best thing to official repeal. Instead lets focus on the root of the problem.

@NorseLax09: I am all for enforcing our gun laws, but as I've stated in other posts, the 2A will never be repealed. Writing more laws with more gun restrictions/background checks is a backdoor way of repealing it. It is a slippery slope.

The "rest of the developed world" also has issues with knives and being run over by cars. A homicidal manic will simply change his method of killing. As you said, stop blaming the gun and lets focus on the cultural and societal issues.

Can't say I hear much about bombs going off, however knives and being run over by cars IS a problem. London's is now banning knives! Totally ridiculous.

The root of our cultural problems stems from home. A stat from about a year ago stated 22 of the 27 mass shooters came from broken homes. These shooters have issues of dealing with failure and rejection. The homicidal manic will only change their method of killing. Passing more gun laws will make you feel good, but will not solve a damn thing.

2. Maybe try reading your own counter argument. The link you provided was a correction stating: "we found maybe four or five of the 27 shooters that we could definitively conclude (without doubt) had been raised in an intact family, or a family that included the biological dad at home, or a biological father who was consistently at home." So it was 22 of 27, not 26. Let me be more clear, these shooters are snowflakes that don't know how to deal with rejection or failure. That is a culture/home problem.

For further clarification, from Wikipedia: "James Madison. In Federalist No. 46, Madison wrote how a federal army could be kept in check by state militias, "a standing army ... would be opposed [by] a militia." In other words, a state militia, made up of citizens, could keep a tyrannical Federal Government in check. It also clearly states, "the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms".

Bottom line, I am all for keeping guns out of minors and homicidal maniacs hands. But this is a cultural/societal problem that starts at the home. Banning guns via the backdoor will not solve a damn thing.
