My brand new Elite 360 gave me 3 red rings less than a week of buying it. I sent the repair request two weeks ago today. Microsoft recieved my console last Wednesday. I called for an update and I was told that customer support doesn't have the status of my console and to call back in 24-48 hours.

To those of you who have had to send your console in repairs, how long did the process take from the time you mailed your console?

Good because I am selling my console to a friend and I'd like him to have the content I downloaded and paid for on XBL but I don't want him having my XBL name and subscription.

I have a pretty simple question. When you delete a profile from the 360 you are asked if you A. Wish to delete the Profile only. or B. If you wish to delete the Profile and the Contents of the Profile.

If I pick A. Does that mean that whatever content I purchased from Xbox Live on that profile will stay on the console and still be use able on the console?

Thanks

In my opinion it is a bad version of CS. I dislike magic in a shooter, no character customization, not enough weapons and the ones they do have aren't satisfying. It is a good concept with good potential. But I think it has exactly that..potential.

I myself own GoW, Oblivion, and Quake 4. I prefer fast paced shooters. FEAR I enjoyed but the multiplayer was awful. Definately just a rental. RV6 didn't impress me really, it is a first person shooter yet it has a 3rd person cover system. I really thought that to just be unforgiveably stupid. COD2 is good but I don't own because if I play another WWII game I am likely to slit my wrist. As for Oblivion, I got my money worth out of it before I was even half way completed with the game. I've put probably 300 hours in to that game. Very enjoyable, so much that you get really ticked when theres nothing else to do.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably ask him to lower the costs to the ammount that a warranty sells for and then purchase it.

wow youve definately done your research. anyways since the warranty is old(i read that he got a new one in 06) make him drop it to 400 because the warranty can be that extra $75 or $50 that you get him to take it downSSJLink17

See that is better. A very good suggestion that is logical and makes sense! lol Thanks m8.

Point taken, I don't want to screw him however, he has put in over 700 for all this stuff. I can't buy a used wireless controller for 20 bucks. Where I live a used wireless controller costs 40. And yeah I can buy a used core in stores...for 250....not a pro, you can't even buy a used pro in stores. You have to buy a used core, and build up from there or buy a new pro.

I know this guy personally, I play on his 360 on almost a daily basis. I know exactly how he treats his things (hes a neat freak). If this were an item online, then yes I'd ask for cheaper because as someone stated above, I have no clue how the items have been treated. But in this case I do. And I know that all of it is in great condition. So that also ways in to it.

I don't mind people saying it is a good or bad deal, but I'd like to know why everyone says it is a bad deal. I am having a hard time understanding why it is. Sure it isn't a great deal. But if I want to buy all his stuff used at Gamestop or Blockbuster I'd have to dish out 100+ more. So that is why I don't see how it is a bad deal. Sure I can find something cheaper on Ebay, but also, I have no idea of how old the console is and what condition the items are in. In this case I do.

I am not trying to sound like an ass, not by any means, I just want everyone to understand the situtation and so forth and then tell me why it is a bad deal so I can have a point reason of why it is, not on the simple basis of "yeah it is a bad deal. "Why?" "Hell if I know"

You have a point, it is just half the people that have made a comment haven't bothered to read the entire post, which is frustrating. Someone stated the console was a year old, great thing to consider, and to point out, but if he had read more carefully he would have read that the console is not even a month old. Some one else listed the items the guy is selling me and said it is a bad deal, however he didn't list all the items that is being sold. Yes, 475 for a Pro, one controller, a face plate, and a headset isn't a good deal. But, 475 for all that plus a media remote, another controller, and 50 bucks worth of stuff on the HD, that is more reasonable. I am simply getting frustrated that when people post, they seem to not be taking all the aspects in to consideration is all.

I do appreicate everyones opinion none the less.

May i remind you that this 360 is out of warranty....hence at least a year old.  Factor in risk of it dying and you biting the repair bill and his asking price is too high right off

karmageddon2k4

Read everything I wrote. His 360 died right before his warranty went out. He had a launch 360. He sent it to Microsoft and they sent him a new or refurbished 360 that was manufactered in December of 06. He recieved the console not even a month ago. So the console is not even a month old.
