Yeah, come on people, you don't need to quote my original post, I know what I wrote. Instead, you could focus on your personal issues with what I had to say, and write your own spiel. Anyway, I am back because I felt a need to further explain what it was that I valued so much, among other things. I didn't want to present an opinion that made other feel anger or any form of discontent. It is a difference in taste, I am sure. However, I worry that some of us do not attempt to see the whole picture. So, if I made you angry, changes are you are angry for some other reason. Perhaps for a moment, you realized how much time you have wasted. Perhaps it is something else. One thing is for sure, however. I did not affect you. I was not present when you read my words, and anything you had against what I said was in actuality, something you thought about when reading what I wrote... However cyclical that may sound. So, what was it? If I was to sum up what it was about the games I enjoy that I actually value, I suppose it would go something like this, in no order. A lack of guidance. A sense of adventure. A surplus of freedom. A diverse community. A real feeling of accomplishment. A 'life isn't fair' philosophy. Does that make sense? I tried to extract as much from my mind as possible, but you should understand I do not take much time to really sit and think about what it is about myself that makes me myself. In all honesty, I see this as a futile endeavor. I like what I like becasue that is what I like. If someone tries to tell me what I like, I don't like that. So, don't assume I am trying to tell you what to enjoy. I wouldn't be the same if you did what I wanted you to do. I value individuality. This is simply my point of view, and if you have a problem with it, check yourself before you attempt constructive criticism. Would you listen to someone telling you how your personal opinions are wrong? Would you lie to yourself after reading that question? Because, you would listen. You would be affected. What I want you to think about is the best way to actually accomplish what it is you want to do. The truth is that no one is going to take you seriously if you single them out, and criticize their opinions, when you don't even know them. Imagine a homeless person telling you to get a job... But feel free to say whatever you like, I'm open to constructive criticism, but if you hadn't noticed, this isn't exactly about who I am. It's about where games are going & what we can do to prevent artistic stagnation in the face of player preference.

This post was sparked by Final Fantasy XIV reviews. So, with that in mind: I'm not a fanboy. I'm a 25 year old childcare worker. I haven't played an MMORPG in years. Let me explain (pl0x).

My first MMORPG was RUNESCAPE. I know the graphics are pretty dated, but Runescape as a whole embodies everything I love about the MMORPG genre & for that matter, everything that is at stake these days concerning the gaming media as a whole.

Face it people, you're choices are BEING restricted in order to preserve profit among media conglamorations that have begun to loose revenue based on the publics decision that these conglamorations make crap product.

This is by no means the only truth I can provide, & I, in no way wish to come off as some kind of conspirator, or worse, a heretic.... However, this has been a concern of mine for years now. Gaming is going to the pits!

Now, why did I mention Final Fantasy XIV at the start of the post? I'll tell you.

I have been watching reviews, & although everyone is giving it poor scores, I am watching the reviews, & I am laughing at the reviewers for their stupidity. Let me summarize the main complaint.

IT ISN'T WARCRAFT!

It's difficult to find quests, because quest is the root of the word QUESTION and you are obviously able to create your own quests, that is what you are doing, your asking 'where are the quests?' RIGHT THERE YOU TWIT!!! "Where are the quests' is a QUEST. You obviously do not value freedom. Final Fantasy Online is, wait for it, not about quests! Anyone who has played XI knows this. You start the game, and you're like "what the heck am I supposed to do?" You have the weapon you asked for, you have basic crap that you need, and that is it. You are left to your devices, and what is the first thing you do? You start talking to the community, & they help you out & then you're like "this is fun, these people are nice" & THAT IS THE FOUNDATION!!!! Everyone starts off in a rut & EVERYONE gets assistance from their peers. Anyone in the Final Fantasy XI game world will tell you a simple truth "Get to LEVEL 10". The game is BUILT UPON THE COMMUNITY!!! NOT THE LEASH!!! That is why I hated warcraft, it keeps you on a leesh and holds your hand throughout the entire experience. Everyone is an automoton... That is why I have stoped playing videogames as a whole (except for minecraft these days, freeedom I LOVE).

Anyway, I know I'm going to get called a final fantasy fanboy, but to tell you the truth, I am not. I am a fanboy of a gener of games that is swiftly being destroyed & I am concerned that those of us that realize it have no outlet for our frustrations & we are being silenced by a self policing body of ZOMBIE HORDES!!! & for those of you who agree...

Head = Dead

[QUOTE="ThePlothole"][QUOTE="blacktorn"]Also in terms of the 3D screen made by sharp it only goes upto 3.25",the same as the dsi,so it would be inpossible to have 3d run on a screen anything bigger than 3.25".So im pretty much expecting what the TC said..blacktorn

Actually Sharp just showed off a new 3.4" 3D LCD back in April. And in the past they've produced full size laptops with their parallax barrier technology.

But price is obviously the biggest issue,for sure nintendo isnt going to price the 3ds more than $250 and u cant fit two 4+ inch screens on a device to be sold for around $200.

Well, actually for the most part, the technology behind these 3d screens isn't anything new. There is only one variation that would be more expensive to make, however it is simply a combination of different technologies that have existed for decades (or more!). My guess is that Nintendo will use a parallax barrier. However hightech you think that sounds, it is only a plastic lens put on top of a normal (albeit hi resolution) display. The only function of this lense is to take the many rows/columns of pixels in a display and bend then in a number of different directions. My guess is that the 3DS will use eye tracking to further perfect the application of this technology. It seems to me the most cost effective move. By tracking the users eyes a software algorithm will compute the best ROWS/COLUMNS to use. Each line will be assigned to a specific position in space between 3DS and gamer, depending on the position of your eyes relative to the DS certain lines will be activated... It's really quite a shortcut when compared to top of the line.

I haven't read the thread. I don't need to. I only wish to convey one truth. PC gamers have enough content to keep them busy for generations to come.

Technically Fight Night should be up for graphics king debates, but people seem to draw invisible lines as to how enclosed a space can be to be definable as a graphics king.designer-

what the... i'm guessing you hold them vertically and the pictures are just not in the right position. even then, this would mean no shoulder buttons and the analogs are too far from the edges and, again, too low. look at all handhelds you have and notice your finger positioning. you need to try to come up with something where your fingers don't have to move too much from that position and the buttons are still not clumsily thrown next to each other.BrunoBRS

Well, I took a photo of a DSi and put a 16:9 screen on it in a position where I figured it was as big as it could get, then I simply used the extra space to put the buttons in. If you take a book, or any other object relative in size, you will realize that it is actually a decent design. And just so you know the system can be held pretty much any way you can imagine. However, I'm going to revise what I have made so that it better represents what I know is a better design. I have big monster hands... so, unless you have tiny baby hands, I guess you can trust my judgment.
