I love AVGN videos and everything else James Rolfe does. This game looks like it was truly created by fans for fans. And then, when he said that they probably wouldn't pursue any release of it on the Xbox because of "the principle of it", I immediately realized how cool this publisher is.
I absolutely loved the Thief and Deus Ex franchises. And to this day, I am kicking myself for never playing the System Shock games. How did I miss those??!! Anyway, I agree completely - the original Bioshock was a work of art and exercise in innovation and pioneering gameplay. Bioshock 2....ehhhh....yeah. I can't wait to play Infinite tomorrow! Ken Levine is an artist!
Oh.....and..... EA...ruining game studios, tainting otherwise great games, and bullying developers since 1995! Yay.
If you're hating on Feedbackula, you're missing the point, in my opinion. Feedbackula is meant to be funny. It satires peoples' comments but also hints at good points along the way.
Sim City may have been an easy target, but I think they hit it right on. Many people, who bought it on Day 1, were gambling. We knew what we were getting into, buying a DRM game, and we lost. Many of us should have learned from our mistakes of buying Diablo III on day 1, but we were so excited for Sim City.
I agree, we shouldn't have had to suffer through what we have......but we have. It's time to move on, and hope that continuing improvements are made.
At the end of the day, I love Feedbackula for its satirical but relevant take on Gamespot stuff.
Opinions.......everyone has an opinion. For some reason, people feel it is necessary to condemn Gamesppot because of their decision for Game of the Year. The bottom line is, if you love the game you're playing and believe it's the best game you've played all year, then write a review and post it online - or start a website and call it MyOpinionIsTheOnlyOneThatMatters.com. Then you can put all of your justifying "facts" as to why your game is the GOTY.
Sarcasm is a wonderful thing. This was Gamespot's game of the year. Deal with it. If you don't agree then so be it. If you do agree, then you understand they're rationalization behind why they chose it. Either way, the world isn't going to end because of it. Continue to enjoy the games that YOU enjoy and let the Gamespot editors enjoy and post about the games that THEY enjoy.
The fact that there is still hacker scum out there willing to try and steal and corrupt people's identities soley for the purpose of saying "I can" or some other statment is much more alarming and damaging to society than this trivial argument over game content. The content of a video game should not be used as a scapegoat for violence. Proper parenting and upbringing and mental stability of an individual should. Far worse stuff has been written about and shown in movies, documentaries, etc. The real monsters are those who would seek satisfaction and fun in destroying the real lives of others through hacking.
