@validifyed: Need to keep reading the article beyond the point that pisses you off the most. He went on to say that idea was on the table but they completely scrapped it. "No shortcuts."

I played the Powerman 5000 song first. First time I ever listen to it. I then played the FFXIV video, and a few seconds in I had to pause it just to make sure I didn't still have the first video running by mistake.

@dxBIGBOSSxb: Did you come straight to the comment section without reading the article? :p All big games take YEARS to make. We're just not aware cuz the developers have been historically secretive about the process. Star Citizen and many other games took an opposite approach. They allowed millions to observe the process from the very beginning.

How long do you think Bioshock Infinite took to make? Assume you were given the choice to back it and thus allowed access to observe the development process from day 1. You would've had to wait 6 years!!!! 6 years to start playing the game you backed.

@mikemurphy80: It doesn't need to state that the settings are for 60 FPS because it's a given. When a console game releases at 30 FPS, or 60 FPS, the developers try their best to ensure the game runs at a max and steady FPS. If it doesn't and the FPS drops a lot, they work harder to make it steady by either downgrading graphics or improving code or whatever. When a PC game releases at 60 FPS, it's generally expected the user will try his best to play at a steady max FPS. The user does that by fiddling around with the settings based on their PC specs.

You must understand, choosing to play a game on ultra at 1440p or 1080p and thinking "i'm okay with 30 FPS" is not really the right/ideal choice. If your monitor's refresh rate is 60 fps, and your game's FPS hovers around the 30s, your gameplay won't be smooth and fun. It won't be like how smooth the 30 FPS console version is. That version is smooth at 30 fps because the game is locked at 30 FPS, meaning there won't be any fluctuation.

And btw, the visual difference between high/very high/ultra is usually not extreme. There's no reason to tax your system if it's not strong enough just to enable that ultra setting. I bet the developers themselves would urge the players to mess with the settings and tone them down to fully enjoy their product. But in the end, to each his own :p That's one of the perks of PCs.

@mikemurphy80 You overestimate the power of the 980ti, and you underestimate the stress of 4k. One 980ti won't get you steady frame rates on ultra at 4k. It would leave you hovering around 30 fps or so. Same deal with games like Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and so on. You would need to SLI the 980ti for steady max FPS.

One 980ti, however, would get you steady max FPS on ultra at 1080p, perhaps also 1440p depending on the game.

Funny tidbit. Kanye announced he will be running for president in 2020 :D I guess he saw what Trump is pulling off, and in (in revenue), and thought "I can raise a circus too."

Mads Mikkelsen has this tendency to be the ultimate star of pretty much anything he acts in, even when he's not a main character.
