[QUOTE="Speedeamon-14"][QUOTE="TheAcejoel99"]Someone who dosen't care if they beat a game or if they even do good in a game, they just play it because they think it's fun. And so a higher extent, those who buy very few games. (one every few months)Symphonycometh
I like that definition. Since when has being a casual gamer been such a abd thing, which the TC seems to get at? Now the TC may not be implying this, but I want to take this as a chance to ask this: Whats wrong with being a csual gamer? Is it such a bad thing to have a life, or actually do something once in a while other than play games?
To be fair, I'll look at it from two lights for you: ~One way of looking at it is the happy and innocent way, which is what you're saying. Casual gamers are just trying to have clean fun. They are by no means trying to kill off hardcore gaming/gamers. ~The other light would be that since there are (obviously) more casual gamers willing to spend money on casual games.Since gaming is more of a business, the hardcore games have since dropped in comparison for a lot of hardcore gamers in sake of more casual games. Needless to say, the hardcore gamers are used to more challenges and innovations. I get ya. Im not really sure where I would fall as a gamer actually. I love games like GTA, Uncharted, HL2, etc., but then again I dont play them a lot. I still have to get through GTA4, and it took me about a year to get through HL2, EP1, and EP2. I get what your saying about people just buying the next NFS, Madden, Rainbow 6. With that, the quality is inevitably going to decline. That being said, I would say there are two type of casual gamers: The type who go out, and buy any poorly made game and think its great. Then theres the type who will buy quality games, but spend less than 10 hours a week playing them.
