They should have just cancelled all last gen versions of this title and focused on ps4/xbone and pc. This cross generation shit is really going to hurt it, just the fact that they have to share assets is bad enough.

Disagree my friend. Black Flag was on Xbox360 and PS4 but looks rad, dope cowabunga on pc.

I'm not your friend, guy.

He's not your guy, buddy.

All jokes aside though, the consoles are just doomed to fail with the hardware they have in them. Sure they're more current hardware. This just means that you can take PC's sloppy seconds now and we can stop getting shafted for having to baby sit you with your old horribly underpowered GPU from before ( looking at you Xbox 360 fans ). I'm actually quite happy. It's a new dawn for PC games as we will get the priority game development and the consoles will take second fiddle for a change.

@ladyblue: No... it's not. Sorry :(

Quick review

The game play released was washed out and dirty looking right? That played at 1080p @ 60 FPS. That's your marketing claim being fulfilled. The hardware could handle the lower textured graphics and the dirtier crappier shadows at 1080p. But you wanted "Next Gen".... so now you're playing at 900p and 30FPS... but hey at least the game will look... better.

The hardware of both the PS4 & the Xbox One compares to our PC cards of around a Nvidia GTX 470 (2009-2010) which retails right now for $80 on Ebay.

Given that an Xbox One costs $400 w/o a Kinect. An Nvidia GTX 770 can play the game 1080p @ 60 FPS ( or better ) retails for $330. Let's run some numbers

$400 - $80 + $330 = $650

Are you willing to spend $650 on a "Next Gen Console"? Probably not. Probably should just go ahead and buy a PC at that rate... they're compatible with console controllers anyways...

The only 1080p patch that you may see is a downgrade in graphics otherwise known as compressing the textures. Other than that, you're stuck. Sorry.

I believe they delayed the game so they could put their house in order after watching EA get eaten alive by the PC community during the Battlefield 4 release phase.

Also, I think that the game is going to release this time, on time.

Reason:

Last time, the gameplay that was released looked old and washed out. This was probably a graphical downgrade in order to be able to play the game at 1080p @ 60FPS. Gamers immediately said woah woah wait... where's the pretty (PC) Graphics that we saw at E3? So they went back, reinstated the newer (better) graphics and are now polishing up the last bits in order for it to be released on the 27th. The game will now play at a lower resolution because you want your game to look "Next Gen" on hardware that was current in 2010 (maybe 2009). It's simply not going to happen.

Enjoy your consoles. The PC Master race will continue to enjoy the sleak fresh new graphics of the latest updates. We'll be waiting on you when you finally come around.
