@dmastor Maybe Nintendo made a under the table deal with sony and Microsoft for Nintendo to fail out of the console market if they keep screwing up the mobile market.
I am still wondering how many launch titles are japan exclusive, will be cancelled/delayed, and how many games are actually quality games worth playing. I don't a repeat of ps3 launch where I trade it 6 months later because 80 percent of the games that were promised either didn't come out, didn't come out here, or sucked.
I have the game preordered and if it is at least as good as shown I will enjoy he game. I am looking forward to the bioshock meets brothers in arms gameplay that they have shown.
Its a great idea because gaming now has console, computer, phone, and tablet based gaming so merging consoles into one sole market would not create a monopoly on gaming, but would still allow consoles to once again regain their epicness lost in the current gen of consoles (seriously where are all the epic new ip games and the stream of more then we can handle new content we were promised).
I own or have owned every gaming system to have ever come out, but this does not seem like a buy to me. I could understand if it had upgraded guts or functioned as a tablet also... but so far it seems like nintendo just turned their wii into a portable version and just fixed their console to match up to current specs. While many will hate me for saying that before you all hang me by my toes and burn me at the stake let be say this also, Nintendo has done something that microsoft today gave gamers hope for (tablet might be their portable gaming) and sony could take a hint at (the failed psp and new vita that hasnt fufilled its promises yet), i say that because the wii u is the first portable device that seems to make the console obsolete.
Now the nintendo fan boys (or trolls) can destroy me for heresy.
