@Thanatos2k: Sure as long as you are not circumventing their security which a MOD chip does. MOD chips are in violation of the DMCA and are illegal here in the USA. People do a lot of neat things to consoles, but they do not alter the boards to bypass security to play pirated games. Also those ToS that you agree to when signing into their networks are legally binding documents.
@bez1212: Im sorry but please type in better English :/ From what I could understand you are pointing at the reason they are shutting people down. People are posting these games for free online which is in violation of copyright law. They do not have permission to post something that they do not own the rights too.

Sony probably said it best when they announced PS4 being paid online when they said that they could not maintain a high quality service for free for the console.
@mentalrevolt: Oh and you know everything and how everyone thinks? There are lots of bootleg hack fests that people sell that are complete crap. There are people who really don't know and they buy it and play it or give it as gift to someone. That person can then think that all games under that name are just as bad and never buy legit games. There is your damage. Most gamers nowadays are mindless and think a game is crap unless it has multiplayer.

As soon as start spreading then you take on some risk. You would need to alter a lot though.
