[QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"][QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"][QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"][QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"][QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"][QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"]Ok...let me "try" and explain this another way. I make a game. Only 100 people have my game system. Lets call it the SW101. 100 people buy my SW101. 2 people buy the game, you do the math. The ******* game was not a success by far.
R-Dot-Yung
In order for the average Video Game to break even with its profits and costs, it usually has to sell at LEAST 500K
to sell 2 Million for any developer is a HUGE success whether you want it to be or not
your wrong buddy
Compared to the installed userbase? Man please. 110 million consoles running around should have guranteed 4-5 million games sold. Also I need a link for the portion of your reply that I enlarged and bolded for you.
See im becoming a Game Designer, and therefore i have to read books on this stuff
the book is called Game Development and Production by Erik Bethke, Foreword by Dr. Zeschuk and Dr. Ray Muzyka, Joint CEO's and Co-Executive producers, Bioware Corp.
;)
Sorry sir, you made the statement not me. Its not for me to produce the link, but you since you stated that in order for a developer to break even they need to sale 500k games. What you didnt take into account was the budget for some of these games, AKA Killzone 2 and Halo 3. Selling 500k games on a 20 million dollar budget wont bring a profit. Link please sir?
why do i need to provide you with a link, i know im right, i know your wrong, we are talking about Killzone 1 right now and games of the LAST GENERATION
ok so lets just do the math since i know im right, Wii Games/ PS2 Xbox games on an average have 2-3 Million dollar expenses
500K x 50 = 2.5 Mil
2M x 50 = 10 Million
owned
 Great math  That is definitely sig worthy
