Change is only possible through violence, to think otherwise is to be naive. Of course MLK and Ghandi changed some things without violence, but as a whole it's impossible. And Marx clearly said things in the manifiesto that were intended to spark revolution and violence, he was just "personally" against it because he was a coward.
It's not a matter of intention, rather the inevitability of social and economic change with capitalism. Revolution in Marx's sense isn't the forceful toppling of classes, rather the inevitable self-destruction of the system itself.
