@Lord_Python1049 I agree. Veeery uncomfortable. Like a politician defending something he doesn't believe in. The fact alone he is specifically focusing on that team being 'on his side', makes me doubt the positivity here. Of course your team and boss need to be on your side. How else would you get work done? It must be hard to build up a company, bring out successful games, almost fail and be responsible for the jobs and lives of dozens of artists, only to be acquired by someone else.
Not the most inspiring situation.
Also seeing him stating he's 'excited about the free-to-play model' while being taken over by an MMO factory, and obviously being not excited makes me fear the outcome.
Ah well, all things change over time, so this might turn out ok for them somehow.
@twe1ve_5tones @Snepstok I do not agree. Just because it has been a part of human history and is still part of human culture, doesn't mean its natural or unavoidable. We have (shown) the capacity to be (self) aware.
Almost any violence is the effect of our unaware thought processes and feelings. Getting aware of these, there will be a choice in how we react to anyone or anything. That won't be violence.
Human instinct is also to get a grasp on problems and trying to solve them.
If you're shouting 'peace' with violence in your heart, violence is what you'll get.
I agree humanity should ditch violence, but not by bashing games.
War, shootings, fights, arguments, aggression: all part of our disfunction as humanity. You see it in real life (war), art (media) and games. And yes, I'm now going to enjoy it playing Supreme Commander. There I will slaughter millions, in real life I won't even stand the sight of a gun. All since childhood. (without Supreme Commander)
