Thanks for all advice. Good stuff. Tier 1) GTA CHI Town 2) MGSPeacewalker 3) VC II 4) LBP 5) Wipeout Pulse Tier 2) Patapon II 2) tomb raider anniversary 3) Dissidia 4) Crisis Core 5) MGS Port ops 6) Tekken Dark Ressurection Tier 3) Side scrolling experience that would compete with the likes of Mario: Megaman X and Castevania X Chronicles + FF 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, FF Tactics War of lions. And Resident Evil 2 I think anyone who says PSP isn't worth getting now is nuts. I can get all this via purchaes without case from Amazon at a price of around $125 Once again thanks. Now I even have a side scrolling experience that I can alternate (b/c the old style will get old if I play too much of one game)

edit: Arctic Edge has been scrapped since it has online issues.

In addition you have Burn Zombie (same view as Chi Town wars *compliment), Bionic Commando remixed (sidescroller), and Flow (who knows...I'm sure this game would come in handy on a bad day) * Fat Princess

Which leads me to ask.. What is most therapeutic game for psp? Too bad it doesn't have flower. Soundtrack. Would that mean ff8? I heard the soundtrack is great for that game. Any better?

If I buy psp used games on amazon or ebay used without cases will I not be able to play online?

I know that Socom 3 allows only new purchasers to play online (or used game purchasers if they pay a fee of $20).

Do some games require an online game code and others don't?

Like when I type in MGS Portable ops online game code in google none come up.

But LBP, wipeout pulse, and a few others seem like they require one-- in which case, you'd proabably at least need the case.

Thans for any help

Thanks for replie. I am very wowed by persona 3 and monster hunter but they are too time consuming. Persona 3 could make the cut if the story was in the league of Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid. Too me it seems like its too emo Anime. (FF gets emo but visuals are a compensating factor, plus intangibles) FF Crisis Core has a shorter campaign going for it which I like a lot since I'm trying to get experiences that get to the point. I've heard from a couple credible sources how much they think patapon is crap and it makes me cautious.

Tier 1

1) Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

2) Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker

3) Little Big Planet (have a gf, unique experience)

4) Valkyrie Chronichles II

5) Arctic Edge (very cool experience)

Tier 2

1) Patapn 2 Rated #1 in IGN top 25

2) Wipeout pulse (alternate racing experience)

3) Tomb Raider Anniversary (nostalgia... and you kill dinosaurs...unique gaming experience)

4) Resistance (online shooter)

5) Dissidia (new one) (just for its intricacies) not traditional fighter. If the upgrades/customizations/unlocks feel anything like FF leveling up system it will continously be a fresh experience. Plus may instanty download FF6, 7, & 8 on my psp (have not played 6 or 8)

Thx for all feed back. Will prob buy tier 1 first. And if I thirst for more....grab the successive tiers

I'm getting the PSP for the first time. (Already ordered Crisis Core, Portable Ops, and Socom 2 in a game lot dirt cheap from ebay)

I'm buying ten games right off the bat. Among the research and factoring in the importance of a diverse gaming experience I have made a list (The first two tiers are the games I feel will make me the happiest gamer)

Tier 1

1) Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

2) Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker

3) Little Big Planet (have a gf, unique experience)

4) Valkyrie Chronichles II

5) Patopon 2 (gf game, rhythem game) Rated #1 in IGN's top 25 psp games of all time

Tier 2

1) Arctic Edge (played demo on ps3 years ago...it was sick)

2) Wipeout pulse (alternate racing experience)

3) Resistance (online shooter)

4) Tomb Raider Anniversary (nostalgia... and you kill dinosaurs...unique gaming experience)

5) Loco Roco 2 (Looks super annoying but makes the cut....same devs as patapon 2...edges out rock band unplugged)

Tier 3 (afterthoughts)

1) God of War (button masher...and frantic as heck...could play doped up and my mind would have the same neural activity) rated 1 of tier 3 because it is seen by many as the greatest.

2) Dissidia- Fighting games not so much my thing. Love the FF Series

3) Half minute hero (thx for advice replaced unplugged)

4) Tekken 6 (nostalgia)

5) Lumines (replaced pixel junk, thx for advice)

How do you like this estimate? I used to be a gamer (about 3 years ago). Are there some experiences here (GOW) that I'm just dead wrong in? Any game you'd add to break the top ten in order to give a great experience. Fun Factor is 75% while unique experience is 25% roughly when deciding what makes the cut. Smart gmaers out there....what is your definitve top 10? When you type that in in google many varying and poorly chosen lists (in my judgement)come up.

Hmm. Interesting - let's reexamine the OP.

[QUOTE="drakecool1"]

First AAAE in God of War 3

then a whole bunch of AAE games

Heavy Rain

MAG

MLB The Show 2010 (Sports Game, so I will forgive it for releasing yearly)

Yakuza 3

this is just the beginning of the year still to come

Gran Turismo 5 (GT5: Prologue, GT: PSP, GT5. 3 games)

Twisted Metal

Socom 4 (Confrontation, IV, Fireteam Bravo 1, 2, and 3, and Fireteam Tactical Strike. 5 games)

Mod Nation Racer

Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Vs 13, Final Fantasy XII, Crystal Bearers, Echoes of Time, and Rings of Fate. 5 games)

Resistance 3 (Resistance 1, 2 and Retribution. 3 games)

Killzone 3 (KZ1, 2 and Liberation. 3 games)

3d Dot Game Heroes

PS3 Move

the ps3 has also tied the 360 in AAAE

this like 2009 and 2008 is proving to be the PS3 Year again.

Would you look at that...

Well when you look at it that way- this thread has been destroyed. ps3 isn't unstoppable this year heck the entire first post was based on unannounced games and games that are likely to be pushed to 2011. and cows suddenly care about AAE's? well the 360 wins there and PC destroys everything. AAAE thier tied and the next Ps3 AAAE is GT5 and thats comming when? end of this year? K by then the 360 has a potential AAAE (AW) a locke dAAAE(Halo reach) another possible AAAE (fable 3 since the 2nd was .5 off and .1 on metacritic) then you have Crackdown 2 as a AAE and those are announced games. you wanna play speculation? then ps3 looses against Wii and PC this year. Ps3 has a great line up I personally want Last gaurdian, and socom 4. but saying its unstoppable is laughable since the sheer number of flops that alread occured (WKC, HR, MLB10- not saying their bad games mind you) and delays (GT5, PS3 Move, which was originally supposed to be out by now). every system will shine this year and none will crush the other.

Ya, HR and MLB 10 did not "flop." Anything rated 88 and up on gamerankings makes a hard case to say a game "flopped" its AAA status

Xbox 360 owners: I hope you have plenty of exclusives to look forward to! But, then again, it might be worthwhile to buy a ps3 and pick up games like LBP, Heavy Rain, Valkyrie Chronicles, Uncharted 2, GOW III, and Killzone 2. Oh, and if you like baseball MLB the Show 10 is going to be ridiculous! PS3 has a lot of diverse and innovative gaming. You guys got to hope that Splinter Cell Conviction and Alan Wake come through BIG. Because those are two ADVENTURE/Cinematic style games that if done right could satiate your pallate in place of Uncharted 2 and GOW III. However, as it stands now, I believe the PS3 big 6 outshines Xbox 360 big 6. Halo 3, GOW II, L4D II, Fable II, ME II, Crackdown II VS. Killzone II, Heavy Rain, LBP, Demon's Souls, GOW III, Uncharted II. I didn't include MGS 4 in the Big 6....shoot me.

awesome contributions. Why would someone be picky about the color of their controllers. That's a little weird. I can understand if you wanted to changeup with the black though. But lil_speedy_rvd : ya, so is Demon's Souls lacking in variety the way Dead Space was? with enemies(excluding bosses) and locations?

I find it beautiful. They seem to have added a lot more variety. I love the color variety used and I'm sure they've even improved the soundtrack. It seems a bit like a Romeo and Juliet setting with characthers that have better depth. Love the weapon variety and the different moves he can perform with different weapons. The "alert" mode seems a lot more fun. I haven't played it but it looks like they really collaberated and took a lot of elements from Prince of Persia and improved on what they were trying to do the last time. Because I mean c'mon. Its an open world game with TOP OF THE LINE graphics. I understand why they may have not gotten it right the first time. And it just goes to show, Ubisofts dedication and vision was able to come up with a solid artistic sequal I think a lot of people would enjoy

Demon's Souls variety. It always seems so dreary (from all the video clips I've seen from it). But not epic dreary like an Edgar Allen Poe Poem. But dreary like a repetitive nutshell
