Truthfully, I think the Videogame industry has enough players as it is. EA wouldn't dream of making their own console, simply because... why focus on your products on one console when you have all three at your disposal, even with the royalty fees.

Apple... I don't know, they aren't really focused with the gaming industry and Google... they only compete with Microsoft on the Internet side of things. Sega making a come back...I can't imagine they would have the resources to do that and besides, same logic applies to EA...Sega are making more money than ever before because they're focused on the 3 consoles.

I don't think publishers are also keen on having another console manufactorer as it is becoming more and more harder for independent developers and publishers to make profit, especially when you do have the bigger companies either bankrupting them or buying them out.

Also, the way the industry is moving forward today, it's all about mass profit, videogames in some way are being marketed as a drug rather than entertainment. Almost every month, there is a major release which we have to buy. Take last year, in August we had Bioshock, in September, we had Halo, October was Assasin's Creed, November was call Of Duty and Mass Effect.... and all of this is on one system, not to mention other big titles like Eternal Sonata.

I've got all these titles and I've only played Eternal Sonata for 5 minutes, Mass Effect for about an hour....Halo for about 10 hours maybe and Bioshock for about 15 hours... we're buying games left right and center and not even taking the time to get the entertainment value out of it and all of this is just on the one system...

I dont know about anyone else but the games i buy i play.....Maybe im just picky when it comes to buying games..

Same here, i only ever buy games im gonna play and enjoy....

Lol, the point was, it's finding the time to play them and do you really enjoy them when you know that in a few weeks time, the next big thing is going to come out?

Of course. Even if a big game comes out the next day, its gonna stay on the shelves for months, if not years. So whats the rush?

I takke my time and enjoy games. More big games released the better imo.

I tried to get mine, but apparently you have to be a premium member to get them now. As the free ones are all gone.

[QUOTE="Lach0121"][QUOTE="Rafinator"]i hate EA. Maybe a comeback from SEGA?Scarface_tm431

agreed or even atari.. EA has taken so many good franchises and stripped them of that which made them great.

Yet I find Acitivsion has been much worse for that, yet EA gets all the bad press even though they've been doing great games lately

Skate was the best thing from them so far imo.

Yeh, forgot about SEGA. Would be good to see a comeback, especially after the massive flop that was the dreamcast.

Havent SEGA signed all their characters over to Nintendo now? Or did i just make that up lol.

Who could be next in line to release a console? As it cant always be Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo can it.

I think the next possible contender could be Apple. Obviously not for a good few years....

The Apple IGAMER or something along those lines.

Ive made a blog on the subject. Comments appreciated.

O boy, I can see Apple charging $1,600 for some stripped down shinny white box that can fit in an envelope. O wait, they already did that:roll:

I can see EA making its own system one day. Madden alone would help it gather a large fanbase. So would Tony Hawk/Battlefield/Need for Speed + the 1,000 other games EA makes. Not sure if it would do so good in Japan, but w/e.

Sounds logical. EA are already expanding their lengthy arms across everything else.
