@AnNiHiLaTor808 You can also play this on the Xbox 360 which 80 million people already have!!!And this is supposed to be Xbox one's next gen exclusive app which is a multi platform game that can be played on a 5 year old pc and a almost decade old last gen system?!?!!!!Wow Xbox must have truly fallen.
I just don't understand why this was such a keystone for the Wii U's 2014 lineup.
It's not that I dislike 2D platformers Or Donkey Kong. But the thing is, in the last few months we've had both Rayman Legends and Super Mario 3D World; the latter of which is probably one of Nintendo's finest platforming creations for some years.
Up against two such strong offerings, and an increasingly dependable indie scene, something tells me Tropical Freeze is just the wrong game at the wrong time; the sort of thing that had it come before Rayman Legends, would have been more celebrated. But in the wake of two such strong platforming releases, this was always going to have to be something truly exceptional in every way, and I don't think in any trailer I saw anything I could describe as 'exceptional'. Or it could have come later on, when it was filling a gap.
It just took too damned long to get to market. I think it's nice Retro wanted to have a go at doing this; and it's nice to see it's at least good - if not really good. But I'm not so sure this was the wisest use of Retro Studio's time, or the smartest use of money.
I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering why Nintendo didn't ask them to do something a little more... well, ambitious...
