X360: any pop song, who cares.

Wii: any kiddy song, who cares.

Which of these 2 movies are you getting:

Goddess of War / Heavenly Sword OR

Motorstorm.

(there is no games of other systems because they don't match up for Q1 and Q2 of 07)

1. why do we need that much space?

-We need more space so devs don't have to worry about it = better games.

-I want to have all the Lord of the Ring in one disc

-I want to enjoy movies with: different camara angles, 7.1 dolby, and games and movies on a single disc

-I want to back up my computer files on a single disk

2. dvd is supported by every one.

-DVD is 10 year old tech, It dosen't have too much space

3. once again, dvd is supported by every one

-DVDs will still be here for another 5 years at least, so don't worry.

4. it all depends if people are ready to change formats so soon after dvds. blu-ray could flop like umds did

-BD will not be like UMD

5. what does that have to do with anything?

-I am helping you choose the best format, even if you gonna buy your BD player 5 years from now.

1. no games on dvd were on multiple discs this gen. most even had plenty of space left over. and more space does not make better games. it just gives developers more room to be lazy.

2. when i'm watching a movie, it doesn't really make a difference how much blank space there is on a disc.

3. dvds will be here for at least another 10-15 years.

4. you didn't make much of a case there

5. you still haven't shown how it's the best format. it's way more than we need right now

1. with the HDTV market growing we also need we also need HD content and that includes games, and HD contents need more space.

2. dvds can hold not more that 3 hours of SD content, now what if I need HD content.

3. you can still see VHS movies out there and that is after 8 years of DVD. The same will happen with DVD, they will still be around for at least another 5 to 6 years and their prices will be cheaper.

For example I'm just casual customer. Go to the shop and see Toshiba HD for 500$ and Samsung BR for 1000$.

WTF? I'd buy HD-DVD, there is no doubt about it.

BR gonna have hard time -> low support from movie companies -> death

dimar19

But what if I tell you that that Toshiba HD does not support 1080p, and that Toshiba is trying desperatly to flood the market with products that costumers will not be happy with when they found that it is not a full HD player?

What! BD (bluRay) has the most support from movie companies and hardware manufacturers.

I don't care what format it's in; I just want good games. That should be the only thing anyone cares about when it comes to this. IAmRodyle

Because we also want better games, we have to talk about the better format that will suit that. (lack of quality games)

I'm not asking everyone to buy a BD player to support the BD format, I'm just trying to tell you that BD is a better format and that we should supported. (even if you are a 360/Wii/PC owner, even if you don't want to replace your DVD player) (actually for DVD users it will be beneficial because DVD movies will be cheaper)

I support Blu-Ray...but I'm not interested in the PS3 as of now, knowing Sony's console hybrid history. I much rather get a pricey Blu-ray player that will work properly than a dumb down Blu-ray player that plays games I'm hardly even interested in.

VERTIGO47

That is a good approach too because: stand alone players are always better than hybrid consoles (not only Sonys, the X360 is an annoyingly noisy DVD player)
