EA, I think you are just finding excuses for your failed MMOs. As far as I know, many, if not most, of your MMOs did not start out as free. They only became free after your subscription dropped below a certain level and freemium became your last attempt to milk the gamers. Example? SW the Old Republic, LOTR Online, etc...
@SlimeSwayze That's a pretty thoughtful comment, my friend. Though I really enjoyed Indigo Prophecy, I can't help but feel that the game could be so much better if they just find a better script. Emotional storytelling is more than just high quality graphics and motion capturing!!
Gotta respect a company that keeps supporting and improving an existing game! Too many other MMOs are only there to make a quick buck before it becomes free to play!
@Thessassin Exactly! I totally agree with you. I am not looking for major graphic innovation any more, because, to me, they already look great, and further improvement will probably come at the expensive of a more risk adverse industry. That's why I think with a wide range of indie games, I am totally happy with keeping my current gen for a long time!
@LiquidGold sure thing. The was a big leap in graphics between the last and current gen. wii offered a completely different way of controlling, and PS3 came out with Bluray and cell processor. All of them had significantly better internet capabilities from social network to online stores.
I love the idea of the share button, but that's a small improvement. I haven't seen anything that wasn't done before, and that's what I meant by innovation.
