To be fair, Sony's lost a ton of their major exclusives over the last two generations. First, Grand Theft Auto. That was the reason to own the ps2. It started with MS paying a buttload of money to get it six months to a year later. Then, they paid something like 350 million dollars to get GTA 4 a same day release on Xbox 360. After that, Final Fantasy jumped ship and became a multiplatform, after being a Sony exclusive for over a decade. And now, we're seeing Metal Gear on the Xbox, which would have made people's heads explode as little as five years ago.
As much as I enjoy Sony exclusives, they have a tendency to let exclusive games not made internally to drift onto other consoles, so it's hard to argue Sony won't let games lose exclusivity. In this regard, we're talking about third party developers making exclusive games because that's what Titanfall and Mass Effect are, as well as the games I listed above.
Of course, the likes of Uncharted aren't going anywhere because Sony owns Naughty Dog, but third party exclusives typically don't stay that way forever.
