Those of you opposed to second-hand game sales/trades, please Google the term "first-sale doctrine." You've become indoctrinated by the industry. It's not stealing, and it's not exclusive to games or digital copies. It's been well-established. Note: I say well-established, but I mean in general. It is well-established that this right exists in general. What isn't well-established--and the reason the debate exists--is whether or not EULAs should be able to trump this right. Which, obviously, I maintain they shouldn't. There's nothing fundamentally unique about games, therefore they should be treated the same as other products in that you should be allowed to resell them, and the publishers shouldn't get to remove your rights just because they want to. And for the record, this debate really shouldn't be about Gamestop vs. publishers. Many of us are opposed to *limiting* and *restricting* consumers, but that doesn't mean we like Gamestop or even make use of game resales or trades ourselves. I don't buy from Gamestop because I don't want to support their chicanery. Furthermore, I've been making my own money for 13 years and haven't felt the need to buy or sell a used game for over a decade now. I see a game I'm interested in; I buy it at retail price if I think it's worth it; I wait for sales and/or patches and reviews if I don't. I'm still opposed to attempts to prevent resales. This is restricting you, and me, as consumers. And it's a sad, sad state of affairs when we're all such sheeple that we actually argue *in favor of* restricting ourselves just because our favowitest, bestest, most awesomest devewoper tehws us we shud.
