I have been a Resident Evil fan for many years. I've spent thousands of hours playing these games. I've obsessively played RE1, RE1: Director's Cut, RE2, RE3, RE Code Veronica, RE Zero, RE4 (I bought a Nintendo GameCube for the sole purpose of playing RE4), RE The Umbrella Chronicles, RE Degeneration (iPhone app), RE5, and just recently...RE6.

In total, I've played 11 different Resident Evil games, across at least 6 different gaming systems.

Resident Evil 6 is by far the LEAST FUN Resident Evil game I've ever played.

This review is absolutely spot-on. RE6 does a few things well, but the overall gaming experience is simply terrible. Capcom tries so hard to make an action game...and then they interrupt the action with an unbelievable amount of loading screens, forced sequences, and pointless stretches of vacant, non-interactive environment. The story mode was tolerable on the first play-through, but subsequent play-throughs are absolute TORTURE. It really does feel like a chore.

RE6 is essentially a bad movie that occasionally lets you control a character. There's no variation, no freedom, and ultimately...no incentive to keep playing. I would estimate that at least 25% of RE6 story mode is JUST SITTING THERE, WAITING FOR THE GAME TO GIVE YOU BACK CONTROL.

There's a sequence in Leon's campaign where you're riding in a Hummer through zombie-infested streets...and all you can do is look around...and it drags on for like 10 minutes. 10 minutes of just watching your character sit in a car. It feels like 10 years. I literally put the controller down and go get a snack during that scene. It's "bad game design" on such an extreme level...frankly, I'm embarrassed for the developers at Capcom.

In summary, Resident Evil 6 is definitely the WORST Resident Evil game I've ever played, and it probably ranks in my Top 5 for "most disappointing games of all time."
