@unikat I did not even know there WAS Konami code when I was playing the game. I remember leaving my console (it was a knock-off of NES, because the actual NES was not available in the Czech Republic back then) on during the night so I did not lose my progress and I finished the game several times too. I have recently tried it again and could not understand how I managed to get throught the first level. :D

Mine is leaving the cheap Vietnamese knock-off of SNES on for the whole night, because there was NO way I could ever get an actual SNES here in the Czech Republic at that time and I wanted to finish Contra even though I could not save the game. Skip a couple (10) years forward and I got my hands on the same game from the Playstation Network and I was amazed at how I could have ever passed more than the first couple of enemies. :D

I know its OFF topic here, but could Gamespot please take the "Pledge" commerical off of the site for just the christmas period? Its REALLY not very positive. I know it happens all the time even during Christmas, but PLEASE think about it. Thank you.

There is another factor co consider for those outside of US/GB: If I choose Xbox One for the added value of entertainment center, will Microsoft actually support it in my country?

First of all let me say I am NOT one of the conspirators. BUT I think there are two aspects to this that you fail to take into account: First of all the reviewers at Game Spot are not so numerous. Actually like a dozen of people from what I have noticed in the reviews of major AAA games. Second: The reviewers dont have to be "paid" only in money. They get press kits with free gifts related to game, collectors editons of games and so on. That COULD in fact sway the oppinion of a reviewer towards the more positive aproach to the reviewed game. If people are nice to you, you try to be nice to them, right?

Oh sorry. I got too excited before I realised what you were talking about... By "you can fap to this" you did not mean your cute self smiling in the video but some chick being "naked" in a game. :)
