Jrugh...you are still running WINDOWS to play those games. You have to use TWO operating systems when I only need one. I love how you guys with Boot Camp think you are so cool. You still need a Windows license unless you are a pirate...so who cares what hardware you run it on...And before you crap on me some more with your little "uninformed" comment...I worked for years at Apple and at Microsoft...I left because I hated the way they handled external developers and game companies.

I ran Windows 7 Beta on a VMWare box inside a Vista machine...it was faster than the host operating system! And for those Mac people comparing it to OS/X...please stop...nobody cares about your machine. Ever notice people who are subconscious about their decisions compare themselves to others? Seriously go back to watching videos and reading email and playing WoW while I bring up Fallout 3 on my PC. Enough already.

I have Vista RC1 installed and am going through every game I have (which is large list) and reporting to MS what works and what does not...cannot speak for FF7 since I dont have it, but here is a list of games that I have seen work: Battlefield 2 (which failed for a while to even install in older betas). Everquest 2 ( although one of the expansions had graphic lockups but still installed ). Had problems updating the Launcher....MS knows and is fixing. Oblivion (runs smoother than a baby's rump). The Movies Guild Wars Games that failed: IGN's downloader....go figure. Company of Heroes Single Player Demo (looks for DX9 files!?). If you want to find out if a game is running, email my account and I will let you know if I have it and if it works with RC1. Remember it is RC1...and having been a Microsoft employee...I can bet they will have one more RC before launch and that they are HOT for fixing compatibility issues.

I am a Vista beta tester and you can add Dark Age of Camelot to this list. It wont work with the updater. I alerted this to the company. As for their testing technique, remember to also play with more than drivers but also the video accelerator settings and the Compatibility Mode. This helped out alot in Everquest 2 which worked OK. Again, it is early and alot of games may or may not work. I am doing nothing BUT testing it against Vista's builds and I get them more frequently than most.
