they cost more then 250-300 my friend still in the 300s-400s plus its bs that this problem isnt event he consumers fault yet they still charge them.

True, but that's how all major companies do it. You go to apple to fix your macbook, they'll tell you to buy a new macbook rather then fix it.

Unfortunately modern technologies are not built to last, my old iPod lasted 3 years before dying, I now have a iTouch and I was warned that they are prone to dying at an early age. Its all about making money, not just for Apple, for everyone what is their motivation for making a product that last for several years when you can make a **** one that dies in a year so you can buy another one? and as far as I know if the PS3 gets the "yellow light of death" then you send it back and get one for free, similar to Xboxs policy for the RRoD if it is a random, unrelated issue....then oh well read the warranty next time

[QUOTE="JCMac120"]Yeah this is ridiculous. This is looking more and more like my last generation of gaming...:( Because I refuse to keep paying these ridiculous prices and if this is any indication of next gen, then I'd rather not.dudeihaveadell
if pc prices stay down ill just sell my ps3, plasma tv and 5.1 to get a nice pc

If you think PC Gaming is more cost effective you need to do more research

I would suggest looking into PS3 exclusives, any FPS will probably be better on the PC, I used to have a really nice gaming PC but 2 years later it became an outdated PoS so I went back to playstation. If you have the money to update your comp, keep doing it because shooters on the PC are unrivaled.

Though some shooters, only on the PS3, might be good for you:

Killzone 2 is fantastic, even if you didnt play the first (not alot of people did)

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, I highly recommend this game for you because it is 3rd person, also because the second in the series comes out this year

If youre creative, or enjoy trying to be creative, get Little Big Planet, its one of the best games on the console

If you like sports games and like hockey, get NHL 09, or NHL 10 which comes out this year, IMO best sports game (much better than madden)

If you like Racing games, Gran Turismo 5 will be the best one ever made, though not until next year

I am. One thing i dont like about this game so far is the FPS. I understand why they are doing it

Myzz617
Idk maybe because FPS are the most popular gaming genre and because this game has nothing to do with SOCOM, and because the latest SOCOM was really bad

Killzone 2 had fantastic artistic touches/filters that dont make its graphical achievements any less special

it was cool that they were able to use simple techniques to make the visuals that much more amazing, in a technical sense they were very good, but the artistic touches took it to the next level

MGS4 also has amazing visuals, and I think people get distracted by Uncharted's pretty scenery not to say that the visuals arent amazing but the advancements made on the PS3 over the 2 years since it came out made better looking games.

It will all depend on the peoples ability to play the game right... and not turn it into a 256 player cluster****

that is really going to depend on the game mechanics and map design, at this point its really hard to say

I usually do hardest available, it prepares you for the Impossible mode after you unlock it

I only play a game 3+ times if I LOVE it, so 2 good challenging playthroughs is enough for me

Bioshock 2 (must buy)

Uncharted 2 (again...must buy)

CoD:MW2 (going to be the best MP for a while)

this is taking into consideration that GoW3 and GT5 will be released in 2010

though, if a miracle happens...

Bioshock 2

GT5 (best racing game ever)

GoW3 (conclusion to the best action series on PS or anything else)
