Do not purchase GTA 4 from Direct2Drive at any price.

To update their version of the game you need to use their custom patch. The latest one available from them is from June '09. You will not be able to connect to games for windows live for multiplayer or to add achievements to your profile. Auto update from GFWL will not work with this version.
