And this is why the PC version is, and will always be, the definitive version of this game. When I saw that Bethesda didn't update the graphics engine, I cringed at first, but then I realized that ALL the awesome mods that kept me playing playing Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 will in some way exist for this game as well. Here goes another 100-200 hours of my life.

Fun Fact: the Elderscrolls Series beat out the GTA series in a poll that Gamespot did back in 2013. The poll was being used as a promotional tool to herald the upcoming release of GTAV. There were articles all over Gamespot celebrating GTA and Rockstar, to promote the game, and they set up a tournament-style poll for fans to vote on what is the best gaming franchise (series) of the last decade. The GTA series and the Elderscrolls series were the finalists, and Elderscrolls won - and Gamespot BURIED the results. They didn't even link the results to their home page, after hyping this poll on the home page for a month.

So I take their gushing praise of this game with a grain of salt. GTA is what it is: an awesome innovator in the open world genre, and an unrealistic, SUPER immature, grindy, bad driving simulator, and bad 3rd person shooter. The story is, as usual, about an unlikeable character doing repetitive drive and shoot quests that are fun at first, but get boring after a few hours. Very, very boring. Like a Tarantino movie playing on a loop.

GTAV is the official placebo for those of us waiting for The Witcher 3 - which has gone GOLD and will be out next month.

What a gushing review. At 6m30sec: "GTA V is the bar by which open world world games, or indeed ANY game that aims for a cinematic feel... should be judged." Wow. This was right after he said the game had frame rate problems at times, and that the multiplayer was filled with the kind of d-bags that would... I don't know.. ENJOY a game like GTA V. All in all, when I'm done with MK X, Shadows of Mordor (never finished it), BF Hardline, and a sh-t ton of other games, I'll be glad to give this game a try at the THEN lower price.

Man, what's up with all the "Lucy Hate" coming from Cam and Seb? I say "Keep your chin up, Lucy, you did great!" And she could pronounce that Well Mod's title. Seb couldn't. You tongue tied lil' b****... which I think is the title of a 2 Chainz song.

@wexorian I know it's not only MP - but MP is what this game was made for. The SP content is done half-assed, but the twitch shooter crowd will still love it because of the cool visuals, maps, etc where they can spend hours of ADD-medicating fun. There's nothing more fun than running around for 3-10 seconds at a time, getting shot, and re-spawning to do it over again. With little to no immersion, context, or narrative. At least ME3's MP mode affected the SP game. It made it much more relevant.

Kill-Be killed-Respawn-Repeat, for some, is the definition of insanity, or hell, both of which are accurate definitions of some twitch shooters. And Kevin Van Ord, being an older, experienced gamer, recognized the eye candy, and smooth game mechanics, but ultimately yawned at the game.

Cool tech demos do not equal good games.

My Theory - If you an older gamer (20's and up), you're likely over the twitch shooters.

I think if the reviewer was under 20, he'd be all over this sleek looking game, that caters to the MP crowd, which will get its rocks off in the MP mode, twitch shooting and respawning the night away.

At least Destiny HAS a single player mode (unlike the disappointing yet somewhat fun TitanFall), which means I'll buy it when it goes on sale in the future at some point.

I'm not paying good money for this. You basically get ONE, count it, ONE character that we haven't seen before - and she is a Cammy re-skin. Sorry, but that is a Cash Grab. I'm waiting for the PC version to be on sale on Steam for $14.99 a year from now. That's when I MIGHT buy it. Already have Street Fighter X Tekken and Super SF4, so I'm passing on this DLC-like retread.

@Rohan75 @OkRaider88 Excerpts from the Wikipedia article on "Journalism ethics and standards": "Journalism ethics and standards comprise principles of ethics and of good practice as applicable to the specific challenges faced by journalists.... truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability..." - You see, this applies to e-mags like Gamespot. Gamespot presents itself, its articles, reviews, and yes, even its polls, as an objective information source on the gaming industry. Their actions leading up the GTA V launch, including the Game Series poll, finally proved to me (previously a Gamespot apologist like you) that this is no longer (or never was) the case. I unsubscribed from the Gamespot channel on Youtube, I erased them off my browser History, and have been to this site only twice since last week. Game Trailers, IGN, and Giant Bomb are now my "Go to" sites for gaming information. I hope you read this, and it helps you evaluate your media consumption choices more closely.
