@WillyWynn Thing is, it's pretty obvious that they are trying to create a ONE-stop-shop (that means expand their monopoly as much as possible) and make sure that everything is paid for. Even better, being constantly paid for (Office 365, Windows-for-every-device, even Adobe Creative Suite for that matter). It's also pretty obvious that with their recent practises and products they try to make everything online. That means control and binding contracts. Gaming is just a part of their pie and they're drooling hard over it. It's about making sure you own NOTHING and RENT everything. Why buy a program and own it? Just rent it.

But they don't tell you all that. Oh no, they only sell "convenience". But that's just so subjective, isn't it?

Why hasn't the iCompany sued these copycats yet? (That was a joke btw)

@Jamesp2005 I guess everyone deserves a second chance. Ofc, the result matters. I just wonder what the result could be without the rage/criticism.

And still nothing will be perfect. Maybe a little bit or fairly better. (And that doesn't apply just to Microsoft or Xbox)

@djrushhlive Yes, how are your shares looking? Lol.

It's not just Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo. It's the whole mindset. Talking about fanboys? God...

@Jamesp2005 And how can you be sure this wasn't a "Plan B" or change of heart due to the previous backlash? Just saying...

I'd add that Microsoft wants to be a one-stop media shop. It's not even about gaming. It's obvious.

Windows marketplace?

Merging Skype with messenger?

Ads in Win8?

Windows Marketplace?

Windows tablets?

Windows phones?

Subscriptions?

Making sure everything is paid for with monitoring?

Trying to make Win8 cross-platform compatible?

Add some movies, music and games and you're all set. So, it's mostly profit-driven. And might I say, an attempt to monopolise more fields.

They're not the only ones really... Take the i-company for example. They're just more blatant about it.

@rolla020980 "I play what I want when I want"

Shhhh, someone might hear you...

Again, it's not just about being online. It's about monitoring and restrictions.
