@chevelle451 Zero, unless you actually sign up for the service.

Everyone missed the most important part:

"A pay TV service from Sony was first outed in January, when Hollywood news site Variety heard from sources that the Japanese technology giant was in "active negotiations" with at least two major content companies to license their programming."

Yet, this is suddenly a big surprise?

I wish they would include a Robotic Operating Buddy with one of these systems.

@Darknight765 @Netherscourge @angryguy77 Dude, it's $100 added to the price - even if you don't give a damn about the TV service, you're stuck paying for the Kinect. I wouldn't call that a small issue...

@angryguy77 No, I think it's stupid. Thankfully Sony won't make me pay $100 for a Kinect to change the TV channels that I have no intention of watching in the first place.

@NoAngle Sony isn't charging you $100 extra for the optical device that will allow you to change the TV channels.

What good is running TV through your console if you can't even use the console DVR for TV movies?

The only way I care about this TV crap is if I can return my Cable Set-Top box and save money on the monthly rental fee. But chances are, the cable company will charge you a NEW fee just to use your console as the channel switcher, making the whole thing completely pointless.

This is completely irrelevant fluff by BOTH Microsoft and Sony.
