this is my future rig, i need a powersupply to go with it, since the current one is only 300 watts (i know, it's saddening).

E8400

Ati 4870

intel mobo (kinda old)

2 gigs ram

200GBs space

2 DVD drives

what do you think i should get. i don't need a specific model, just the number of watts and a good company name. thanks

what's the advantage in buying a 40$ HDMI cable (yes, that's it's price in my area) over the 5$ VGA cable or DVI. i already have a VGA connection between my current graphic card and the TV's PC input and i gotta tell you, it looks horrible, everything is hazy and ghosting. not sure it's from the card or the cable, because the card is fine with the 17" PC monitor

hello everyone... i'm going to connect this card to two screens at the same time (first question, is that possible?)

secondly, one of the screens is a bravia HDTV, i don't want to go with the dvi or vga stuff, is there a cable that can connect the card to the screen though an HDMI port. if so, is it available in the box or do i have to get it separatly?

third question, if i play a bluray movie on the PC and show it on TV will it be 100% HD or will there be any down scaling. and does the CPU bottleneck the card while playing a bluray disc as it does with games or not, because my CPU is a shame... pentium 4 3ghz

Thanks guys, those are alot of questions

not sure it's because they are limited. if they were limited and mind blowing cards then yes, they can put that price tag on them, but since it's a mediocre card they should make deals at very low prices to get done with the supplies they have, since stronger cards are hitting the market. atleast that's what my common sence tells me

i'm not sure i'm going to get this one but for me to decide i need to knw if it's good with my motherboard. my board has 1 PCI Express x16 bus. i heard the 3870 x2 needed something called a dual PCI Express x16 bus bus, not sure what that is but i guess from what i understood it's one bus but two 16x rows next to each other. is that true or is it like the normal 4870, just needs one PCI Express x16 bus. second question, do all PSUs have an extra 8pin PCIe and 6pin one or are there special ones i need to know about, thanks

i found this in a shop, XFX 8400GS 1 gig memory, for 70$, is it worth it, i mean that's unbelievable for that price, that's more than the 4870 memory wise.
