I left gamespot and haven't posted on the forums since the review system changed. Just dropping in, and I think gamespot's reviews are a joke nowa'days. If they don't want to give GTA a perfect 10, then the only other option would be a 9.5, which would be the lowest score it's gotten. The only reason anyone should care about reviews from this site anymore is being mad when they underrate a game. I remember they had some reason for changing it to .5 incraments, but really, let's be honest, they dumbed down the review system to extreme. I still can't believe they took awaythe specific scores like graphics, gameplay, tilt, etc. for some medals. What a joke. Anyway, I'm just waiting to see if they end up actually giving it a 10 or, because of their effing stupid review system, give it a 9.5. They're always late when it comes to super hyped games. Most of the time it's on the release date when no one cares about the review anymore.

Hi guys, this has been going all around the internet and I knew bringing it here would muster up a few more important votes for Blake. It only takes 3 seconds to vote at this link: http://www.zinch.com/Anonymous/ViewMatchUp.aspx?u1=187959&u2=294113

Blake's opponent, instead of laying out her credentials, instead uses religion and pity to try and get votes. She claims she loves her enemies but she's gone all over the internet bashing the supporters of Blake, so she can get more votes. She's gone on forums and personally harrassed those who vote against her, so please, do not let this huge scholarship go to someone who is undeserving and fake. Thank you.

Halo 3 doing alot better in this poll apparently. I'd have to vote for Halo 3 as it's an extrmely well done and complete package. I haven't played Crysis but if I did my vote might change. I can't speak for SMG as I have yet to play it.

Mass effect isn't on the list because it has yet to be released and rated. This is a list of Gamepot's current HIGHEST RATED games of the year so far. I already explained why Bioshock isn't on the list, and as far the other games go, there's only room on a poll for five options.

Gamespot didn't review TF2, Portal, and Ep 2 seperately, so I think Orange Box is considered one game. World in Conflict... personally I also don't think it has a flickering hope of being GOTY, but gamespot rated that at a 9.5, so it makes the list.

I would have put Bioshock up there if it could fit, but unfortunately Gamespot underrated the game so it's not quite up to the rating quality that the other games on the list are. Bioshock is definitely one of the most memorable games of the year, it was without a doubt outstanding. It deserved a 9.5, but oh well. I tried to restrict the limited list to the highest rated games of the year.

Yeah I'm having a hard time deciding which one would really stand out. Halo 3 is definitely an extremely complete game, the value is through the roof and they did everything right. Crysis really pushed the envelope and revelutionized FPS' and how immersive games can be. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best platformers ever made, and shows just how well the Wii can be utilized. Orange Box is nothing revelutionary, but TF2 and all the other features make it a great value and complete package. I've never played World in Conflict, but it has the 9.5 so I'm assuming it's a great RTS. I've probably had the best time with Halo 3, but I haven't played Crysis or SMG yet. Tough choice. :(

The years not over yet, but there's already a good batch of competition for Game of the Year. It's definitely been a great year for gaming all around, so which game sticks out in your mind as the one that should be picked as GOTY?

As we all know, today Halo 3 is being reviewed here at gamespot. I'm really hoping for a great score and I know gamespot loves Halo, but after alot of big name games missing the mark, we all know it's a possibility. I'm hoping for 9-9.5, but in the back of my mind I know it could very well come out getting 8.5 for any reason. So, in the case of Halo 3 flopping, what are YOU going to do?
