In my opinion, sound is half of the whole video game/movie experience. So w/o some good sound, it's like you're not getting the full experience; I would say it's definately worth it and that it does make a difference.Jahmakan

A solid receiver with HDMI capabilities and a nice set of full range speakers for surround sound. Uncompressed PCM 5.1 sound on bluray and a few PCM 7.1 mixes on the games are incredible...takes sound to a new level if you have a system that appreciates it.
