My my someone's full of cocky hubris today aren't they. Especially for the disastrous trainwreck that has been the XBone reveal along with all the backpedaling and backtracking they've had to do.

And I don't think that the new Killer Instinct, which was booed off the stage, is a feather in your cap to be flaunting.

Microsoft employees really have to stop drinking the water there. Somethin's in it. Causes delirium somethin' fierce.

I agree. It has enough of the old secrets that the things I remember finding in my childhood are still there and makes me glad I played this game into the ground as a kid, and the new additions and graphics, along with extras and voice acting, make the game fresh again. And I've recognized even sound effects from the cartoon being used in-game, which is a great touch.

The only control snafu I've had is that sometimes when I press Square, my pogo won't activate and Scrooge ends up bashing into an enemy and taking damage, but it hasn't really been that much of a problem.

Overall, I'm really enjoying it!

Darn right. I'm playing the game right now. And when I died at a boss, the game just set me right back at the boss, I didn't have to do the level over again. Plus, it's not like the levels are long where doing anything over would get anyone upset. Like the NES version, the levels aren't very long at all.

Doing the level over again just made us better, I say! Taught us patience!

Oh? I had no idea who this guy was until now, but that first impression of his isn't helping.

Again, he just sounds like a guy trying to be edgy, and it gives his reviews less credence; well, not that his review of this game is helping in that regard either.

I don't read reviews often, so I had no idea who this guy was or that he had a reputation for giving low scores or anything, but..

"you can just call him the jerk who hates all the things you love and loves all the things you hate."

CAREFUL NOT TO CUT YOURSELF ON YOUR EDGE THERE.

So I guess in the end it's not about giving an honest review, it's about giving scathing reviews so he can sit back and laugh at everyone and get joy out of being some trollish "reviewer". Guess this is how he gets his shallow jollies.

This. If having a finite number of lives causes you to become critical of a game, it's not just casual, it's sad-casual. You don't need infinite lives in games.

This game wasn't made in today's gaming era, nor should it pander to those who can't fathom the way games were before. It's a remaster, not a remake. Knowing that you would be sent back to start, or even a midway point, was part of the challenge and perseverance factor, and amped up the feeling of accomplishment.

The levels were so short before that it didn't even -need- a checkpoint system, even back then, on top of that.

It's kind of interesting to hear how it happened, really.

"Homosexuality exists, it's a thing, so I put it in."
"OK, cool. What's for lunch."

That's how it pretty much sounds like to me how it went down, anyway. Not making a huge deal, just saying it's here, cool, moving on. Pretty much how it should be, really. Maybe someday.

It's unfortunate, but being a game developer is overall a pretty thankless job. You make a product which, in this case, seems to be targeted towards teens and young adults, and it becomes even more thankless. I don't blame him for lashing out a little. If people only knew how much time and effort goes into making these games, and patching and balancing them, they'd be less quick to judge.
