  • review ``helpful or not'' instead of thumbs, definitely;
  • since writing good reviews require MUCH work than just participating/voting in features which often grant several emblems at once, i suggest making more emblems ( with better design) for xxx reviewers, based on quality, helpful, and such -- not just the actual lame top 100, 500, grandfathered;
  • fonts for pros, cons, and emblems akin editor review (or limited in order to avoid space abuse/ reserved to top 100?);
  • special event(s) with some rewards during the November/December rush when people may read more reviews;
  • if feasible, a direct linking ''hours played'' with %achievements/trophies for XBox/PS3 games, to show how far the user has mastered the game, either tightening or not the overall review or the validity of specific details exposed within.

Been suggested numerous times and ive always shown my support.serbsta69

Exactly. I already do the Good/Bad intro in most of my reviews, but a clean header like the official ones would be welcome - and shouldn't be difficult to implement I think.

I don't want to sound elitist, but since implementing icons + Pros & Cons in user reviews could mean additional server space not to mention a thorough revamp, it could be an optional feature for Total Access subscribers only. Especially for non US users who can't participate in tournaments, Total Access doesn't really bring the benefits it should. I also concur with the user who suggested to limit the number of emblems to be used.

I tried three times within a week to upload an image: all requirements filled, upload button clicked, and then waiting one-two minutes before the '' queued process ''appear correctly. The problem is that I can't see any process nor the image thereafter in my profile whatsoever. The image never appear. Is it a glitch or somewhere in your servers???

The users being soapboxed are part of what I believe a very small pool of recognised contributors KNOWN by the admins/community managers, and I agree they highlight too much specific stuff about a single game that aren't editorials in the first place. The '' category: editorial '' is definitely abused, and such abuse loosely acknowledged. Moreover, just try to spot the very ''unforgettable editorials'' that should be.......that, unforgettable, in order to receive the award: very few inbetween ( not everyday, sometimes weeks, that we can find the ''Draqq Zyxorian'' seal of quality if you follow me ).

Also, have you noticed that some users have been soapboxed multiple times recently, while some exceptional editorialists remain totally overlooked. The whole feature needs to be revamped, or, if it's too much work for the admins to spot unforgettable writings outside their visual field, probably it would be better switching back to the old Freeplay.

Not a bad idea overall....I proposed something related to the soapbox feature not so long ago, '' blogger recommendation thread'', alas to no avail with only a couple of replies. Perhaps it's something most gamespotters don't really care about, but ANY way to improve the search of great editorials alongside good blogs overall is to be commended.

It is possible the community managers lurk a restricted bank of bloggers right now; ANY way to facilitate their search is a good start. A user recommending to them a good blogger/editorialist, inside an enhanced soapbox feature or by any other channel, should be awarded in someway - whether the person is already soapboxed or not.

I can upload images, but I can't create an album either from the submission screen or the link under Images in profile: Page Error. Is that a known glitch???

As a companion thread to the stickied Player Review recommendation thread, I think it could be a good idea to also spot some of the good bloggers that are still overlooked. Many of them don't attract the attention they deserve, with an average of 0-5 comments per entry, whereas other pointless ones gain a popularity contest - just like TheCritic9392 rightfully stated in his latest soapbox entry. I totally disagree regarding his first pet peeve, Major convention blogging, but pretty much nod the rest of the article.

I don't know, but perhaps the community managers can't ( or lack of time ) track all the stuff written each day, even by the most outlying subscriber so if you know an overlooked blogger worth a good read, please let us know. Guidelines:

-quality posts, mostly gaming related;

-no more than an average of 0-5 comments per thoughtful entry;

-not being spotlighted yet in the Soapbox feature.

Furthermore, perhaps GS should acknowledge the best bloggers with an additional emblem, à la top reviewers, taking into account the whole journal, not just one striking editorial. I'm not just talking about myself; I write for the pleasure of it regardless of being ignored or not - but of course we all want a better feedback. Comments are welcome; I also want to know about your blogspottings since I, myself lack the time to check elsewhere than my friends list from which I can suggest a couple now: jervo and Darth Homer.

Thanks for your replies.

Darkside,  I followed your counsel and re-wrote my blog this morning on Film.spot, alas to get the same glitch ''forbidden >'' in lieu of my word ''c.l.a.s.s.i.c''. That's the culprit so thanks jekyll for the clues. C.l.a.s.s and s.t.y.l.e, huh? Not so a c.l.a.s.s.y glitch, Gamespot are you aware? I used the word ''gem'' instead of c.l.a.s.s.i.c then for a successful load.

By jove, aren't we due to become word detectives in order to write here?!

C'mon, any admin, aren't you reading this along the other thread '' Forbidden errors'' - the glitch seem to plague many users writing today. What to do ? Or is it already on the way to be fixed?
