I think it'd be bad for business. Gamecube, heck I'd even argue the Wii U, were their most traditional consoles. And both were the lowest selling. They need to do something(preferablly good) that sets them apart from MS/Sony if they wanna win. A traditional home console with the same third party games as MS/Sony, with the only difference being is that it plays Nintendo games...isn't gonna cut it. Hybrid is their best option. A library that's it's own is much better than a 90% same library, except it'd be a library where people wouldn't buy it's third party games, because they would rather play them on PC/X1/PS4. If it's a hybrid, they just need constant releases and it'll be fine, instead of making an identical machine like their competitors.
1000 is too harsh. But yes, it would sell very poorly to the point where there's no point in even releasing it. Which is why XBOX doesn't really get Japanese support because they've proven time and time again that they don't support these games. The only safe games you can really put on XBOX without expecting it to flop completely, would be Kingdom Hearts(maybe), Final Fantasy, some CAPCOM games, and MGS. Everything else, nope. Not really a fanboy statement, just stating facts. I expect Scalebound to do poorly as well.
Nier, Wonderful 101, Yakuza 3, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Persona 4 Arena, Kid Icarus Uprising, Xenoblade Chronicles, Demons Souls, Sonic Generations just to name a few.
It's not really a bad thing. But I've already played it. I don't want TLOUR, the inevitable Uncharted Trilogy Remaster, Journey, Tomb Raider, GTA V, etc. I've already played them. I didn't buy my PS4 to play games I already played on my PS3. I want NEW games. It's good for the people who've never played them though. But this whole issue could've been solved if the PS4 was backwards compatible with the PS3.
