Thank you! It was corncob 3d! I was looking at images of it and I was like... hmmm I don't remember it looking like that...

...and then I heard the sound effects. My god, it's been 18 years since I've heard those sounds.

I can't believe I remember them at all! Must have been one of my first gaming experiences.

Hey guys,

A memory struck me tonight of a game I played as a child. I have no clue what is was called and in truth the memory is pretty vague. I played this game a some point during the early 90s.

My memory is of some kind of flight simulator, but I don't think it was a realistic flight sim. Everything was solid colors and simple geometric shapes. You could eject out of your plane and walk around and I believe shoot but I don't remember it being an FPS (I don't think you ever saw a gun in front of you... I'm pretty sure this pre-dates wolfenstein). I remember the sky being dark and like really crazy geometric shapes blasting all around.

I know this is going to be a challenge to identify, I will try and think of more memories of it as they come to me. This is going out on a limb, but I think that you started off near two planes (or whatever they were) and you had a buddy there too who you could shoot. I'm pretty sure that the pilots or people in the game were just sprites or even just simple geometry (as in planes).

Would love to hear your theories!

They're in the game-store. I don't have my 360 right now... anyone else have a better way to describe where they are?

Smashell!

Machiavelli's Ascent!!!!!!

Both are awesome games and very nicely priced too (400 points, 200 points). Seriously, just download the demos and try them out, they rock and are especially awesome considering their price. I played machiavelli for like 3 hours today. I got 872,600 points... if anyone can beat me post it. It starts getting quite a bit harder up there (and brighter:P)

I saw in a recent news article that Microsoft has announced the Xbox 360 Elite. I know it has DVI output... does anyone know if this is dual-link dvi or is it only single link?

You can always get the demo as well if you just want to see what it's like. Amazon and half are good places to check aswell.
