You didn't make the best choice on your part. Honestly, both systems have media drives that look a lot similar. Overall, they both have outstanding graphics, and if you justchose the PS3 for the blu-ray (you do know there are blu-ray players the same way there are DVD players, right?) then that's not really a good choice.

I chose the PS3 because I wanted to play MGS4 after playing 1,2, and 3 on PS2. Which you can draw the conclusion that I liked PS2 a lot. And then obviously it has amazing graphics. Also, I bought it right after I heard about LBP, so LBP pretty much swayed me onto the side of Sony...

And I made a good choice. I'm not saying PS3 is better, but I chose it before I got 360. I'm most likely going to get a 360 when they begin to die out. I think that both consoles are extremely good, but if you chose one over another because you can watch movies that look and sound a bit better than a DVD, yet the other's games appealed more to you, you probably made a bad choice. Usually I would say just go with the PS3 but in this case it boils down to this:

It's a GAME console. You stated that the 360's games were more appealing toyou, so Ithink that maybe you should have went with the Xbox. You would be more happy in the long run.

Just read over your OP again.

And now I realize how pointless this thread is.

And now I've double-posted.

FAIL.

[QUOTE="keabrown79"]

Been thinking about switching all my multiplats from ps3 to 360 for a couple of weeks now... the question is i know the PS3 is quite reliable as i've never had issue with it.. i've had a couple of RROD and some disk drive failures with the 360... so question is on the 360 is it not a matter of "if" it breaks but "when" it breaks?

majadamus

Did you think about putting this in your blog before posting this?

Yeah this seems more liek a blog issue than a forum thread.

I'm assuming you're looking for guidance on what system is "better." I don't have both, but my friend has a 360 and he hasn't had a problem with it...

yet...

but PS3 is also a very good console overall. If you're looking for a good multi-player system, go with 360. PS3 has some great online games, but 360 has Halo...so that pwns the rest of Ps3's online. I'm just saying Halo 3 is very popular. However, PS3 has free online. So yeah...

Again, this isn't a good forum thread. Like, no one can really havea back and forth discussion over this.

Recently, my friends and I have been talking about the PS2. It was a great system at the time of release, up until the PS3 came out. Now, it's almost obsolete. The graphics on it aren't so great in comparison to current generation consoles, obviously, and then most of it's games are great. But the majority of the games after 2007 was just...bad. Like for example, The Force Unleashed. That was a terrible PS2 game. (You have to agree.) Not saying that any other version was REALLY AWESOME but the PS2 version was really bad. I got it for PS2 with pretty high hopes that it was going to be like the awesome demo that I played. This game was an abomination of everything Star Wars. Cumbersome controls, monotonous gameplay, etc. The story is pretty much the sane for each one with the exception of going to the Jedi Temple in the PS2 version. That was it's "selling point" or "bonus feature." Honestly, those bonus features aren't worth it, but playing the PS3 demo was like a breath of fresh air. It looked and felt great. It was EXACTLY what i was expecting. But the point is, pretty much every game for PS2 was just a rip off of some Nex-Gen console game.

Then my friends and I were discussing how just about all new games are really crappy. Then I realized that the PS2 is in production for one reason. To sell the PS3.

If you don't fully understand, then allow me to explain.

The PS3 has the best looking and all around best games that Sony has to offer. Now why would they need to bother with that piece of crap PS2? (no i dun think ps2 is crap. SARCASM.) Because when they make these cheap, knock-off versions of games released on PS3 for PS2, they expect people to think, "You know, this game kind of sucks. The PS3 has a better version of this game, i bet, since it's a Nex-Gen console." Or something like that. Now I already planned on getting a PS3, but it wasgames like that that really pushed me over the edge onto the side of thePS3. I'm damn glad I didit too.Great console. Playing some bad PS2 games really makes me appreciate even some of the bad games on PS3. Not saying that Ps2 is bad, but recently, it has gone downhill. Basically, the bottom-line is that PS2 is a marketing ploy for PS3.

SONY'S CHEAP!!!!111

No...just kidding...I like sony...

Yeah it was Dead Rising fir the 360. Sorry I just had no clue what system it was for so I just put it here. I remember trailers for the game. It looked awesome, so I thought about tracking it down all of a sudden.

Thanks guys!

I have an 80gb ps3 and I was wondering if there was any way I could plug in my old ps1 and ps2 memory cards into the system rather than creating one on the hard drive.

Honestly, this isn't really unfair service. Its not terrible enough to go all out and fight with namco because they won't replace your game. I can understand why you're puzzled and perplexed by this, but some scratches are deeper than others. Its not really bad service, per se, but he did seem kind of jerky in a way. Honestly, if its this much trouble to you and your son, buy a new one on amazon or something. The highest on amazon is I think 27.99, maybe? So imagine ebay's prices. If its that much of a good game to complain about a scratch, buy a new one, I guess.

If you really don't want to pay for a new one, places like the exchange might be able to clean it. Theres a few other places that might clean it, but don't experiment with random "do it yourself disk clean" on youtube. You don't know that that'll work! So don't use a do it your self kit unless some one physically shows you. By that I mean in your own household, and make sure its safe.

But that wasnt bad service honestly. It wasn't technically GOOD per se, but not bad.
