Instead of judging a game on its merit and whether the content is worth that $40 price tag you can simply use labels such as "indie" and "digital only" in order to conclude that it is an overtly expensive piece of !@$@. 1) Planescape: Torment(PC) Arguably the RPG with the single best plot in the history of mankind. Warning: you actually have to be able to READ in order to appreciate this gem. 2) Fallout (PC) Great atmosphere, great background story, great role playing. 3) Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (PC) WC2 didn't start the RTS genre, it just made it better than ever. :) 4) Freespace 2 (PC) The crown jewel of space sim. This is the best of the genre, period. With the source code project, you can even experience the best on viagra! 5) Indigo Prophecy (PC) The newest game in my list. This goes back and combined point & click adventure game with interactive movie. Result: an engaging story with lots of crazy moments and fun.
