With the second amendment in place and the history behind it, a complete ban on weapons would result in a massive backlash. We need to seriously consider other options.

When I think about it, there is no one or simple fix to this issue. It's the culmination of many variables that results in these cowardly acts of violence. We have environmental stimuli, social influences, weapons or tools that can cause harm, and lets not forget that genetic defecits may play a role.

We should be studying criminology and paying more attention to influences on the brain and social behavior. I think the key is to prevent the instability of the mind. Anyone can remove a weapon from the equation, but if the mind and behavior are still unstable, we haven't detered the inner desire to inflict pain or harm.

I'm interested in seeing what these politicians will consider. They are as clueless as ever.
