Square Enix for the FF series and other RPGs.
EA for NBA Live Series, NFS and The Sims
Take-Two Interactive for GTA Games
I agree with the poster above me. The widespread dominance of casual games that kills the 'real' gamers crowd and the games of course.
Also, if my favorite company, Square-Enix (even if they worship money nowadays) shuts down, I would probably lose interest in gaming. And last thing, if the consoles cost twice the PS3's price.
I get the grand scale thing. That's why nowadays, people don't buy games immediately like in the past years. People wants to know about the length of the game, not just that, but if it's really worth it.
I have to disagree about FFXII, though. Though there is a 'grand' feeling about it, it kinda fails to deliver in some important aspects. Crisis Core is really shallow, I bought it because I want information and I was surprised of the quality. FFX was one of the best RPGs but it can be linear.
