I don't know about you guys but I buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo titles. Mario, Zelda, and other Nintendo first party titles, as well as other titles from close partners of Nintendo. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have a Nintendo console break into the mainstream hardcore audience, if only to keep Nintendo afloat. I AM something of a Nintendo fanboy but I'm not an unthinking uncritical one. If the system fails to produce any good titles and sales flag I'm completely willing to accept that Nintendo fucked up. BUT I think people fail to realize why most people are Nintendo lovers. Most people love Nintendo for their 1st party titles. I can get the latest CoD game on the 360, PS3 or PC any day, I can't go anywhere else to satisfy my Mario or Zelda fix. I also think the quip that Nintendo isn't "growing up" with gamers is silly as well. I'm 30 yrs old and many fellow Nintendo lovers I know are in their late 20s and 30s as well. In fact many many many a FPS, 'adult oriented game' player are in their mid teens.

So in short yes I suppose it's too bad this game sucks, in the same way it's too bad that any highly anticipated game for a new console ends up tanking. Personally though this isn't why I'd buy a Wii U, if I ever do. I'd have far more ridding on the quality of NSMBU and happily it looks like it doesn't disappoint.
