The soul is the direct experiencer of life with no thought, emotion, or judgement, and is filled with love. That's usually how the concept is described. Now if you're to look inside the brain, you can't find the part that is the direct experiencer. What part of the brain do "you" dwell in? Nobody knows, so until we figure that much out, there's really no way to answer that question.
