I'm a big fan of the series so there's no way I'm going to pass on this. That said, can anyone confirm whether or not I can punch random civilians in the face? I miss that from the older AC games.

Thanks for the solid review, Miguel. This write-up makes my decision easy. I will not be buying this game.

I’ve played Thief for about three hours and I really like the game. Granted, when I read the reviews from critics across different sites including Gamespot I can see why they have issues with the game. All the critical points about the game are fair but despite all that I’m enjoying it. I am not saying that because I dropped $60 on it. I did the first chapter and when it broke down all the things I didn’t do I felt disappointed but in a good way. I thought I picked up everything that wasn’t nailed down but clearly I didn’t. It tells me there’s a lot of things to discover within the game. It does feel boxed in at times and I wish the game was an open world. I’ve become spoiled in that sense with so many other games. The load screens aren’t an issue for me. I’ve been dealing with load screens for over 30 years. The graphics are nice but the complains about the FPS are valid. There are times where the game and cutscenes looks choppy and I expect so much more from a game for the PS4. Like I said, despite the issues I’m enjoying the hell out of the game. It’s been about 15 years since I played the original Thief so it’s hard for me to do a direct comparison. It feels like the same type of game with some improvements.

I personally would rate this game a 7.5 but I don't have this option so I will opt for 7.

@pills2k

I really appreciate this comment.I should be getting Thief in the mail today but I was extremely disappointed to read this review.I mean, some of the complaints about the load times are understandable but if it’s not as bad as Skyrim I’ll be ok with it.I’m a fan of the series.

I haven’t played Madden since 2009. I liked that game so I’m guessing I’ll like this one. That said, for an Anniversary edition it does seem to be lacking (if the reviews are accurate). What would have been nice is if they included some kind of fantasy football feature. I played the demo on All-Madden and I didn’t find the offense as overpowered as the review suggests. With the right defensive play call you can give your defenders and opportunity to make a play and get to the quarterback. Honestly, it’s not much different than the NFL these days as offenses have certain advantages in terms of rules that defenses don’t have. Based on what I have seen with the demo I have to agree with the reviewer in regards to the peripheral upgrades FIFA has over Madden (i.e. play calling, crowd, ect…).

OK, what's the final verdict in regards to needing to play Bioshock and Bioshock 2 prior to this game? Is it necessary to play the prior versions to understand the story? Granted, I understand I "should" play Bioshock.
