[QUOTE="Deano"]Yeah, that's a lot of effort, but I still stand by the fact that you guys do not train for strength. yes, they train for aesthetics, but far better-than-average strength is just a welcome side effect. Just how powerlifters don't care about how they look, but being XBOX HUGE is just a cool fringe-benefit. Overall, being a body builder is still (excluding steroid use) healthier than just sitting around all day, or just doing cardio : /most of you guys bagging it are talking from ignorance
you have no clue how rigorous your diet has to be and how much time and effort you have to put into training. youthink youcan just inject a steroid then go sit on the couch and watch TV and not do any work.
it requires immense dedication to prepare and eatabout 8 meals aday of consistent portions or protein/fat/carbs. Plus alot of guys still have to work full time jobs on top of bodybuilding and getting in the gym most days for 2-3 hours.
Though I wouldn't classify myself as a bodybuilder I use to train with the same consistency and I can say pretty much all of you wouldn't even last a week. Working out so hard you feel like puking

....However pumped up they look, those men are not that much stronger than the average person... Srbanatorthe amount of ignorance in this thread....is astounding. example - To get body builder-worthy quads and glutes, you basically have to get to a stage where you can squat 2.5x your bodywieght at LEAST. An average person would have trouble squatting 1x their bodywieght.
it requires a ridiculous amount of stamina to get shredded. Do not speak of that which you know nothing about :wink:I don't have a problem with it. I think that female body builders look terrible, though.
The thing that gets me about the really big guys, is that they're really not in shape. They have absolutely shredded bodies, but that doesn't say anything about their cardiovascular system. A lot of them die from heart attacks. Their heart has to work really hard to supply blood to all the muscle. Coupled with the fact that again, their cardio is usually not that great.
I've seen big body builders who are breathing very hard just going about their day quite leisurely. Something as simple as taking food out of their cupboards and they're really breathing hard.
