Improbus mentioned Felt, but if you like Atmosphere, also check out Felt 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet. This album is MCs Slug and Murs with Ant producing all of the beats. It's a little different from Atmosphere, but not too much and imho it's just as good as Atmosphere's best work.

I was expecting it to be something like Liberation or something off Stankonia like Gangsta **** before I clicked. But yeah Synthesizer is sickness... I would like to congratulate you on your lateness 8)Orlando_Magic

Hash is always late to the party.

[QUOTE="fat_rob"][QUOTE="Constrobuz"]he's real but the producers he works with arent. Super_Swagger

not feeling lollipop?

Lollipop is a hot track. You must not know what it does to the ladies

I could post youtube videos but I donno if I'll get modded for the content lol

That song is pure asscheeks. The man needs to find something interesting to rap about for a change.

Nice opinion mr. "hip hop head"/ "omg hip hop is dead". Song went to number 2 on Itunes in about a week or less. I don't look for socially conscious, highly lyrical, mind bending raps in a club track. It is what it is and its HOT.

Don't wanna hear Common at a party lmao

*BUMPS I USED TO LOVE H.E.R*

Cool ish but irrelevant. This is '08.

Are you saying that track has no meaning today? LOL! It's probably more true today than it was over 12 years ago.

[QUOTE="Improbus"]Del The Funkee Homosapien - Eleventh HourImprobus

So its worth picking up?

I mean I like it, you should probably be a Del fan...I got it for 7.99 used, and I like it a decent amount.

Yea im a fan, i have most of his tracks from 3030,

What are some of the better tracks?

Raw Sewage, Bubble Pop, Back In The Chamber, Funkyhomosapien

First half is better than the second half.

The new Del album is mega-disappointing considering how many years he's worked on it and how it's supposed to be his "return to form." Lyrically, he's still pretty hot, but the production REALLY holds him back and with mediocre production, his battle rhymes get tired after awhile.

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"]Wackness. I don't understand how people like Gnarls Barkley.iHeartCali

Because it's actually creative and different sounding than anything else that's currently popular. People who don't like music like Gnarls I wonder if they ever listen to anything but rap.

Well, I listen to rock, alternative, soul, & some jazz along with rap, and I still think Gnarls Barkely is wack.

Word....nice try Knife, but that's not the reason we dislike Gnarls. ;)

Nice try at what? I wasn't doing anything with that last comment but to illicit more of an actual explanation. When discussing a group or album, if all I get from a non-rap related album in a rap forum is "wackness," that's the first thing that pops into my head.

They pushed up the internet store release to today (Amazon, ITunes, etc) but as far as I know, the retail CD comes out next Tuesday the 25th.

Don't directly compare it to St. Elsewhere because this is a bit darker. There's nothing as immediately brilliant as "Crazy" on The Odd Couple, but given some time to digest, it may end up being the better album.

Songs on repeat: "Going On," "Run," "No Time Soon," "Who's Gonna Save My Soul," "Surprise," "Open Book"

Agreed. Even if you don't like the song you have to appreciate a main stream artist being creative and trying something new. Especially in today's hip-hop climate.

just because crazy was a fairly popular single doesnt make cee lo or danger mouse mainstream, and gnarls barkley isnt a hip hop group.

Cee-lo was mainstream before Crazy, which is what longdong was saying... and that he was doing something different from what he normally does.

goodie mob werent mainstream. and cee-lo may be doing something different than what he normally does, but singing isnt exactly rare or unique. regardless, gnarls barkley suck.

I'm not talking about Goodie Mob...

Closet Freak

I'll Be Around w/Timbaland

In Da Wind w/ Trick Daddy and Big Boi

It's not the singing that's different for Cee-Lo, he has always been singing from his solo days to his Goodie Mob days. It was the concept of the album, the very different production that was accompanying Cee-Lo compared to his past, and how different it sounded from everything else in the mainstream at the time. It was definitely different compared to what else was out at the time, especially coming from two artists, Cee-Lo and DangerMouse, who are generally considered hip-hop. The fact that you already came out and said Gnarls Barkley isn't a hip-hop group only enforces the point that they were doing something different because as I just said, Cee-Lo and DangerMouse are generally considered hip-hop artists.

Can't fight ignorance, Orlando..

I saw Talib Kweli, Common, and Gang Starr in concert about 4 years ago. That was a better lineup than this.
