If game studios were "students" and the subject of female characters was the "test", then Naughty Dog is one of the few students out of hundreds that made at least a B+... whereas the rest made D's and F's. And yet Naughty Dog is the one that is getting criticized so harshly for their portrayal of women? That's ludicrous.
Good article Kevin. I respect your bravery and honesty. I'm a proponent of encouraging more happiness and more inclusive attitudes in society. I would like to think that our collective perception of sexual orientation is becoming more relaxed with every passing year. As a gaming enthusiast, all I care about is having fun... and where that's concerned, the more the merrier. Going to a gaming event and meeting exuberant people from all walks of life, who have come together without bias or discrimination, is a positive thing indeed... and it's a testament to the notion that our commonalities outweigh our differences.
When I was a kid I used to put my pet gerbil in a Millennium Falcon toy and "fly" him around the yard. The look on his face when he got out was the same look Jess had throughout most of this video.
