I saw The Witcher's 2 opening on X360 a couple of years ago when I borrowed it from a friend, I adored the opening but I didn't like the game because I waited some heavy action like the opening from the get-go (god I loved that opening) and I didn't get it.

Then after all this hype and sales I decided to try the game again and I left my laptop downloading it and just saw that same opening this morning, from the start I felt the same excitement that I got on X360 and I will watch it again tonight, I will give Witcher 2 a second chance and play for at least 5-10h, last time I only played it for about 1-2h but I had the wrong mindset (thinking it was more of an action RPG, but it's so damn deep).

TL;DR - Witcher 2 opening is just amazing! So much attention to details, great music, graphics and a AAA action scene that Hollywood would be hard pressed of replicating.

@saturatedbutter @Ailurusf @couly THIS. I am quite tired of seing on each Editor favorite picks the same whining about why SoM was GOTY... yeah, you can think that WB payed GS and it's a possibility, but in the end they have explained that what tipped the scale was the Nemesis System since it innovated.

Sure, as a whole Divinity and Inquisition might be longer games and people will find them more fun as a result of that, but GS criteria deemed the nemesis system of higher quality and they dismissed quantity of content.

@seanwil545 at the begining of the year Wii U was a joke! I bought a 3DS and I have been happy with Pokemon and Sm4sh, Zelda is next on my crosshairs.

However I bought a PS4 last year and sold it, if I ever get another current gen console it will be a Wii U for sure. FINALLY it has some killer exclusives

@godonholiday @dragonlance01 I think he meant on the Editor's Picks. Mark was the only one to include it on his Top 5 personal favorites

@bigruss730 I think TLOU is a great game, not an absolute classic as people paint it, but a great game with an amazing story but with pretty average gameplay.

I still remember all the whining when Tom didn't give it a 10 like all the other gaming websites, but when I played it I understood why and I agreed with Tom. It's a solid 8, a 9 maybe, but a 10? HELL NO! The gameplay is super repetitive and I was really tired of getting to different cities and never finding some closure to the story...

However the last 30min of the game were absolutely perfect, amazing crescendo, the tension was intoxicating, on THAT I can praise it. But I can't say a movie is a classic just for a brilliant ending so... TLOU is great, but the gameplay isn't worthy of a classic.

Can people stop the b!tching about SoM as GOTY? Geez, they chose it because of the nemesis system, end of story. Opinions people... I don't think GS awards are spot on either, but each editor pick is 100% personal, let's all chillout.

I haven't played SoM but I want to (eventually), I sold my PS4 and I have had loads of fun on my PC but my favorite games of the year have been on my 3DS, so I can say that my favorite games of the year have been Sm4sh and Pokemon Omega, are they the absolute bests of the year? I don't think so, but people should know the difference between favorite and best...

@Pikdum PC release will be the best choice then, a well optimized game will be played by anyone with some decent GPU/GC, just look at the user base of the MOBAs bro.

@Talavaj @D2m5C I respect your opinion and agree with it. However you can find such compelling experiences on PC, however Nintendo has some unique IPs that make it the best value if your gaming is done with a PC and a console in which you are rather looking compelling exclusives than multiplatform titles.

I also understand the people who do all of their gaming on console, in that case X1 or PS4 are better rounded options, but seriously, you'll need to eventually buy a new laptop or desktop, when that time comes buy something with a decent GPU and you won't regret it... believe me and millions of active Steam users ;] I upgraded my laptop this year, 4 months later I sold my PS4 (just before needing to buy PS plus again and the xmas price cut).
