GTAIV was a big let down for me and it is not worth the perfect 10/10 rating. It's the same (or similar) sand-box environment in every game since GTAIII, with almost identical missions (kill this person, deliver this package, get to somewhere before x minutes, rinse and repeat). I never bought GTAIV, a couple of hours on my friend's copy was enough for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough game, but it gets very tedious very fast.
MGS4 is the obvious one to pick out, but aside from that there's God of War III, Gran Turismo 5 and possibly LBP, KZ2 and Uncharted. FFXIII was supposed to be another big exclusive, but it can't be now for obvious reasons. I don't think the PS3 has a single flagship game (or gaming series), but rather a collection, which I believe is much better than relying on a single franchise to bring in the consumers.
I don't think it matters that much, but if I had to choose one, it'd be the original. It does seem a bit strange to change the branding of a system in the middle of its lifespan. I thought the point in branding something was that if it is popular, then to reinforce this, it becomes immediately recognisable by a particular appearence. For example, the PS3 was affiliated with the "Spiderman" font and whenever any1 into gaming spotted that font, they would immediately think PS3, even if the text didn't explicitly state "PLAYSTATION 3". But with this new font, it won't have the same effect. Ah, well.
My cousin gave me his old Commodore 64, that was the first games system I had and I've kept up-to-date since then.
I remember waiting about half an hour for the tape to load on the old C64 and I also remember waiting 20 mins for MGS4 to download onto the PS3 HD, seems like we haven't really come that far!
At first I thought it was extremely difficult with the Japanese soldiers clearly ordered to carry 500 grenades each, but it's all about being patient and precise in your movements. I struggled through all the chapters on Vet. on my brother's Xbox to get him the full gamerscore. However, when I got round to completing it on my PS3 to get the trophies I found it really straightforward and only died a handful of times. It obviously helped having already done it previously, but I suppose it's like most games; it's difficult until you get the method sorted and then everything falls into place.
Nah, I bought the original for PSX pretty much as soon as it was released and I also have it for PC so I don't think I'm in need of a 3rd copy just yet!
The silver version does look pretty good, but I've never really been into colour changes for something that just sits under or near my TV and I sure as hell wouldn't pay any money for a silver PS3 when I already have a perfectly good black one.
