I agree with a lot of Tom's complaints but the story and setting were at least interesting. It was around a 7/10 for me, mediocre gameplay that seemed to sit awkwardly with the story Levine wanted to tell.
Strict moderation is the only way to elevate the tone of discussion.
Appealing to the better nature of the site's users is a pointless exercise, the angry adolescents and trolls will just ignore you while the more moderate people already use some restraint.
The Neogaf forum uses strict moderation to good effect, limiting the types of email account you can use to sign up and banning users for slight infringements might seem harsh, but it definitely increases the chances of actual debate breaking through the wall of noise on occasion.
Outside of the protagonists, the male characters are just as laughable and thinly written as the female characters. It's a GTA game, everyone is a target for mockery regardless of gender, race or political affiliation.
Interesting topic, but feels like you barely scratched the surface in this vid. (Not a criticism just not enough time to go into depth). I'll definitely keep an eye out for the English language version of the book.
