basersx really hates vista huh? Â I find it to be alot faster than xp. Im currently running XP/VistaBusiness on a dual boot set up. Â If I ever have any work that needs to get done: papers, cs code, labs etc I actually prefer using Vista. Â It runs alot faster and does not lock up nearly as much as XP did when running multiple programs.
Actually It only locks up during games. That's the only reason I keep my XP partition around.. and It would be a pain to reinstall all of the games, or waste twice the space installing games on both OSes. Â I have to blame Vista's gaming problems on poor sound card drivers. Creative only has a bare bones driver for Vista right now and games have crashed due to sound errors. But most work fine. Â Oblivion, Medieval: Total War, Just Cause, and a number of others games run just fine. Â Some games like the Sims 2 wont run, but thats because I was only running the executable from my Sims 2 Installation on XP.
 Anyways, Vista>XP for me because.
1. No slowdown playing music w/ itunes, opening 3-5 word documents, 1-2 excel documents, and eclipse simutaneously.
2. Boots up faster than XP did. Hibernate is useful. Widgets - so-so I use them, but use the calendar in outlook.
3. The computer can kick my ass at chess titans. Which is impressive. Finally a challenge.
